I hate the word queer. Reached peak when seeing "queerphobia"at place of homophobia. Disgusting.

Yeah, 100% the same. I used to not feel anything particular about it (knew it was a slur but didn't really bother me) but now? Nothing but aggravation in my soul when I see articles using it.

If the director of the African Human Rights Coalition names them as gay men why does Pink News insist on using the queer slur?

I wish /pol/ would try goading them into doing something like "reclaiming faggot" so PinkNews begins calling all homosexuals faggots. Completely shred that irritating plausible deniability they constantly hide behind by making their obvious bigotry as clear as the nose on their face.

It'd be hilarious, then depressing, then probably hilarious again when the sane majority stumble across it and peak.

I don't like this word because it is replacing word lesbian in almost every news article or show. "Queer people" or "queer women" instead of "lesbians" almost everywhere. While "gay men" is still used sometimes.

Right?

Months ago I saw a trans woman from my country who has a popular profile on Twitter. Although her focus was on trans issues, she also heavily advocated for asexuals. Once she said that the LGBT shouldn't make jokes about straight people since straight trans and heteroromantic asexuals are a part of the community. Less than 24 hours later she was sharing jokes about gay men.

These people act like we (gay men) have all the rights and privileges. Like they say, we're the "straight people" of the community. Hell, not even the straight people - like in the case they mentioned above, sometimes they can be very protective of the actual straight people.

I don't like oppression olympics and comparing who is more oppressed, but they love to do it, they love to do oppression races and paint it as if gay men are losing the race. And of course, when we just point things out in response, they start saying that we shouldn't be comparing oppressions - even though they started it.

And of course this happened in another country, where the laws themselves are more on the side of homophobia. This doesn't mean that the rest of the world has left homophobia behind, though.

Because the real straight people of the community are the TQ+: i.e, .... themselves. It's pot: meet kettle time.

Also (harkening back to preteen playground wisdom) he-who-smelt-it-dealt-it time.

What they really oughtta be looking for is the SSA-Wannabe community. Since they don't belong in ours. And hate us because we do. And because we both know it.

What does “queer” even fucking mean at this point? Are they gay? Bi? Why not just use those words??

Many kwirs can't use those labels because they know they are not. It's the linguistic equivalent of a smoke bomb.
