As a young girl I really wanted to be a boy because I thought boys got all the "cool" toys and clothes. My mom responded by buying me said "cool" toys. If i wanted match box cars instead of a doll, i got it. Once, she bought me a barbie swimming pool, minus Barbie, so my action figures could hangout by the pool. She also let me wear my brothers hand me down shirts and jackets. I never wore "girly" clothes. I'm so happy i was born when i was and had a parent who let me dress and play with what i wanted without labeling me a boy.

This would be an absolute nightmare for immigrant families from certain countries who are now living in the west. The 'certain countries' I am talking about are the ones where boys are valued and girls are aborted or left for dead. My mom wanted me to be born a boy, and when I wasn't she resented me for it. When a kid grows up with that kind of resentment from their parents they tend to internalize it, and like many other little girls, I too had a phase of wanting to be a boy. Of course my mother was already calling me a lesbian and bullying me by this point, so I'm just imagining now in 2020, me, a 6 year old kindergartener telling my teacher I'm really a boy, and the teacher putting out the bat-signal to get the trans-army ready to force-trans me against my parent's wills, and my mother absolutely losing her mind, because the only thing worse than having a worthless daughter is a worthless daughter on fucked up hormones that you can't marry off to an old man.

Dear beautiful lesbian,

You're right -- children pick up on what the parents want and will do almost anything to get attention/love from their only source of it.

I'M glad you're here. :)

<3 Thank you. (And it feels awkward correcting you but my mother was wrong, I'm only half-lesbian.)

Which half, lol? Just joking. Sorry for the incorrect assumption! :)

What world are we living in? I mean, I knew this stuff was happening, but sometimes the absurdity of it all just hits you when you see something like this.

It's happening more and more. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of preschoolers who have been transitioned.

I can only imagine people saying your same exact phrase back during child sacrifice in South America or witch burning in Europe.

There was a couple in Connecticut last year who legally transitioned their four-year-old male child.

They got him a new birth certificate and everything. A fucking preschooler has now been permanently deemed the opposite sex.

The mom wrote an article on Medium:

https://medium.com/gender-from-the-trenches/whats-in-a-name-76a58aa0fbc4

Words not found in the article: "penis," "vagina," "dysphoria," "body," "therapist," "distress," "suicide," or anything to indicate this tiny child was suffering from sex or genital dysphoria.

Thanks so much for your post and links. :D

We need to put more such arrows in our quiver so we are ready when folks challenge us and have fulsome, factual answers that cannot be merely brushed aside.

No problem. There's a lot more where this poor child came from.

Too bad the mainstream media is a lost cause. This is certainly a topic worthy of some serious investigative journalism. Many of these families have troubling histories.
