glad it went well for you. You approached it the right way, by easing into it, and not getting to angry (to her) about it...

Thanks, yeah I think just meeting people where they are at is the biggest part. IMO, like 90% of trans sympathizers are honestly just trying to be kind, and don't realize how much false information they were told.

My friend agrees with me about all the TQ stuff being bullshit and toxic. He’s straight, but he supports gay rights. I don't know any other gay, lesbian or bisexual person who is at least critical of the TQ dogma, unfortunately. Then again, I don’t know a lot of other LGB people on a personal level.

Anyway, fair play on finding someone to talk about it and easing your friend into it. It’s horrible what they’ve tried to do to her.

That is cool you have a friend who is on board as well, it feels bracing to find those people.

Then again, I don’t know a lot of other LGB people on a personal level.

Same, I feel like this is half my problem haha. I would like to meet more.

"Oh, I had a bunch of people in college tell me I was trans and that I was actually a guy and need to transition."

I mean, why? Why would anyone tell her this? Let me guess, because she's not all that "girly"?

Yep. Doesn't wear makeup or have a bunch of pairs of shoes, into sports "omg you like football?! GIRLS don't like football!" (American football) seriously. Maybe more girls would like football if they weren't treated like mutants for liking it...

Have been slowly bringing this up more with people I know online who are less involved in the LGB/T communities. It's definitely been slow going (there are a lot of "live and let live" attitudes from people) but I'm glad to know that most of the people I consider my friends are at least a little bit gender critical

That's cool! Yeah, some people are very apathetic about it. I think it is easy to be when it doesn't impact a person much personally, same as any important important issue.

but I'm glad to know that most of the people I consider my friends are at least a little bit gender critical

That's great! Or at least a start :) Hope I can find some more as well.

I've been telling my dad about some of this stuff lately. He's a total normie who didn't know anything about any of this before. It was really gratifying to see that normal people are so reasonable and common-sense about this stuff once they're made aware of it. Just the other day he mentioned to me that he'd seen an article online about how TRAs were going after Gina Carano from The Mandalorian, and how it stuck him as fuckin' creepy how they were demanding not only that she be fired, but that her character be killed off.

On the flipside, when my penpal mentioned JRK I sent her a link to my favorite detran youtuber who started me down this road, and I haven't heard from my penpal again since. So y'know, mixed bag.

That's so awesome he's on board, it sounds like! Wow, I do not follow the Mandalorian at all but that sounds disturbing. I might take a look.

Oof, that's rough. Yeah, the JRK stuff is really hot-button and it steams me when I hear people I know just blanket-dismiss her. E.g. "Not nice" and "isn't even in the community" and "why'd she bother writing an entire manifesto about it no one asked for that". Like, dude, she is using her voice, and you didn't even read what she wrote!!

It's good you have a friend who seemed on board!

I only have straight cis friends, not necessarily by choice but I just dont match well with most lgbt people. I recently told my best friend about what was going on in mostly the lesbian community, she was really shocked and supportive of me.

Later she told me she was so shocked she even told her other friends, family and boyfriend about it. So I suppose I did my part on spreading the message lol!

Another friend who is straight (but pretends she "might be bi curious, uhu). Seemed a bit apprehensive, but mostly because she is still all into the "being woke" mindset.

Yeah, I was so glad, and honestly amazed, to hear that she was already on board. I have another friend (straight) who is, even more so, as well, so 2 and counting!

Aww, that's awesome!! Hell yeah you did!

Oof, well nothing wrong with being bicurious, but I hope she is not feeling pressured into it by woke friends. I long for the day when being LGB is not such a political thing, and is just another facet of human reality that everyone has accepted.
