I don't idolize them - but I don't begrudge them their fandoms, if any. Many people online have fan followings for absurd, intellectually offensive reasons. If I wanted to do something about it, I'd go after youtubers with child fans.

Similarly, I don't begrudge them their body modification lifestyle. That lifestyle has been colonized by horror fetishists - well guess what, my hobbies have, too. (Some I dropped, some I keep carving out a niche of sanity in.) Again, if I wanted to do something about body modification, I'd start with the most common surgeries and procedures women are having: boob jobs, nose jobs, ass jobs, facial liftings, Bella Hadid's chromosomal disorder look, anal bleaching. Once those are extinct, then I'll go after cat people, lizard people, fake men, and fake women.

The problem with transgenderism is not the surgeries adult body modification enthusiasts inflict on themselves - there are worse ways to waste money and worse ways to die - it's child abuse and the disenfranchisement of women and homosexuals, the harm to groups on the scale of populations, not specific individuals.

They oppose trans-ing children.

they believe that there are also “trans” children under 18 who may actually be better off being given puberty blockers and medicalised in order to find peace with themselves.

This doesn't compute. Obviously transing children should be a crime and perps should get the chair. If the "good transsexuals" believe some children will grow up with a desire to surgically modify their bodies as adults and we shouldn't ban that -- I happen to agree. Put in place the same safeguards as exist for non-trans human sterilization. True, it will still be an undesirable outcome, but there are better causes to fight for.

that is, they acknowledge that they have not actually changed sex.

They fulfil stereotypical ideas of what men and women should really be

This doesn't compute either. If they believe they haven't changed sex, then Buck Angel (for example) doesn't fulfil a stereotypical idea of what a woman should be, she (ahem) bucks it.

The transsexuals appear to be helping. Be speaking up, they make it known that rapists and chomos don't speak for all transes, and the politicians who have taken up the trans cause and are unlikely to budge on that first order of business should maybe take their heads out of their asses and look around once in a while. At the very least, this is a civilizational challenge and none of us know how to solve it, so it's be unethical to tell the transsexuals to shut up and stop trying to help.

"If I wanted to do something about it, I'd go after youtubers with child fans."

One of the "gender critical trans allies" cited in the story has a kiddie fan base.

Good article, thanks for posting it. I'm curious to hear what other people think. I had only heard of Blaire White and Buck Angel. I think Buck Angel's connections with Pornhub and financial (and narcissistic?) interests are telling; I look for consistency when I try to determine people's motivations, and from what I have seen anyway, I think he/she is just dropping a few GC comments for brownie points while doing far more damage, perpetuating the image that trans medicalization is glamorous and desirable.

Buck Angel's first name was Susan?

Yeah, I’m familiar with Blaire White and Buck Angel. And look, Blaire White says a lot of things that make sense, but that doesn’t automatically make him smart or good. He’s still a very effeminate gay man with a closeted bisexual boyfriend.

As for Buck Angel, sane as she’d have you believe, is a pornstar. That's not a profession that should be promoted because of what harm porn can do to society. This is why internet provides should block access to porn websites by default unless a user presents their ID to the provider before he or she can access those sites, so that children and teenagers can’t. And Buck Angel would be upset if I advocated this. I had no idea she was going after a child rape victim for speaking out against Pornhub, which definitely should be shut down. She is married to the industry.

I consider myself to be gender critical, but I don’t see how that somehow comes into conflict with trans people who are rational, thoughtful and most importantly, DON’T DENY SCIENCE and accept the fact that people can never magically become the opposite sex. Every single one of the people written about in this article holds those views. Beyond that, unless they’re running human trafficking rings or selling drugs to school kids or doing something otherwise super harmful to other people, what does it matter?? I followed quite a few trans people like this on Twitter when I was on it, and they seemed to me like people worth listening to and deserving respect.

The only trans woman I feel a bit iffy about is Blaire White, but only because I find him (referring to him by his natal sex while here on saidit) to be a bit too affected and o.t.t. But again, if you look beyond that he makes really good points in every one of his videos that I’ve watched.

I do think dysphoria is a real condition, and people should have the right to try and alleviate it, as long as they don’t infringe on other people’s rights while doing so. We are NOT going to win this war against the identitarian lunacy that’s putting our democracy in danger if we continue to bash people who not only agree with us on the most important and pertinent issues at hand, but also actively call attention to and censure the unhinged loons who are threatening us all.
