Homosexuality is not a fetish, but I find this little piece of cognitive dissonance fascinating.

Trans rights activists: "Don't shame people for their fetishes!"

Also TRAs: "Ew, you're a genital fetishist!"

I've seen the idea that sexual preference is somehow a fetish, go around for a while now.

But I also recall that Twitter was all ablaze about not kinkshaming anyone. So is this persona kinkshaming me for having a genital preference?

It's just homophobia. The way they talk about homosexuality makes it clear they believe our sexual orientation is a choice or preference the same way conservatives do. They don't actually care about gay men or lesbians. In fact most of the time when I see trans people talk about us, they're doing it in a degrading way. Because we don't play along with their gender cosplay.

It's sad and alarming how many people transition because they're gay and think transitioning will make them straight. It's awful how a lot of these people act but I feel for the amount of internalized homophobia. I wish more people were working on fixing that and their trauma instead of thinking transitioning will magically make them happy.

Completely agree. Perhaps if there were more support for people with internalized homophobia and education about it then we would see many fewer people choosing to transition in order to avoid being gay.

It means even them don't actually believe that "genital preference" is a fetish.

True. But they use the word "fetish" anyway to connote shame. "Be ashamed of the way that you are." All in the service of their own fetishes, ironically-- autogynephilia and autoandrophilia and the like.

Because one of the first things you notice when you get into genderism is that there is no internal consistency to their positions. It all reduces to, "Give me what I want because I want it!"

Lol, I've seen this many times before on AL as well as Tumblr. I'll try to post a good example. It is, indeed, legendary.
