Hmmm. I have to disagree here. I don't think they throw around the word because they want people to be afraid, I think they throw it around because they want 'transphobia' to be as serious an accusation as 'racism' or 'homophobia'. A fancier way of saying 'you're a bad person!'

I agree, it's a fear tactic

I feel like it’s a more serious accusation nowadays. It’s definitely more serious than homophobia, racism- maybe not. Are people getting cancelled by the mob for being racist?

I don't think it's in the same way, but people fighting back against the Woke redefining of racism definitely face mob rage. Tim Scott said America wasn't a racist country and people were outraged. The UK Government said the UK wasn't racist and the media lost their minds. There is also this thread that contains numerous examples of ordinary folx being cancelled by the mob (though the thread doesn't focus on just racism).

Well, that's certainly not the way to do it. By screaming it at any sign of disobedience to their agenda, they are watering down this problem down to level of a meme.

I think it’s what they need to believe. Like, instead of “maybe Im being invasive and actually the one causing harm” or accepting basic truths about sex and sexuality, or even just accepting truths about themselves based on their sex, they need to throw out the idea that anyone who disagrees or points out issues with all that’s happening and being spread is full of hate instead of full of logic. The entire concept of transitioning seems to rely on denying reality and attempting to conceal it. If you can’t accept reality, it seems easier to accuse the people who can and are willing to speak up of bigotry, rather than dealing with your mental health issues.

It’s also a way of avoiding addressing flaws in their ideology. Ask a trans person or tra what the difference between being trans racial and trans gender/sexual is. You won’t get an actual answer, you’ll get called transphobic and told to educate yourself.

🤔 it depends on who's saying it, of course. As I've said before... the majority of TRAs I've personally encountered (online) tend to be women/libfems (in the black lgbt community). Actual trans folks don't seem to say shit to me personally except on Reddit when I'm in predominantly white subs.

The first person I argued with on Reddit, when I joined in 2019, was a white "cis" lesbian... not a trans person.

They try to suggest we are afraid of their existence. No, I am afraid that there are people groomed into being trans as their ultimate solution for all problems and mental issues they have and once they realize it then it's too late to go back. Average classical transsexual never bothered me and I never had trouble understanding their condition as it was explained as severe distress presenting since always, which could be eased (not solved) via transition. Logical. What's actually illogical are these "trans" people because of some spiritual concept of gender, which basically can mean anything to someone. It's bringing back gender essentialism, which says if you're born woman then you gonna have a specific set of behaviors, mindsets and stereotypes as well. If you don't or disagree with it then you're trans. And if you entirely disagree with this gender essentialism then you are considered agender so also trans. Cis people are bland gender stereotypes. Very harmful.

Phobias are anxiety disorders or irrational fears e.g arachnophobia. The word transphobia is meant to portray dissenting opinion as irrational. In just one word the sentence can mean, "The opinion exists because the one who holds it is just irrational". I think they use the word because how much it can mean by itself.

No, that's a completely different kind of mentality that they have. Their entire narrative is built on being a constant victim, so their "omg, you're oppressing me by not including me in your dating pool; that's transphobic!" is just enforcement of this victimhood.

"-Phobia" in hate-related definitions refers to the idea that hate has supposedly only one source as an emotion: fear (of the unknown / of the other.)
