He seems to be answering criticism from Clymer.

Edit: in terms of the election (which he has still not officially declared for) fighting with Clymer makes him look good. Clymer is a psycho and has gotten into public battles with religious figures and conservative commenters on Twitter multiple times. He's known to the base already as a villain.

Grenell is showing off for Republican voters by being dignified and reasonable against a crazy leftist transwoman.

The GOP seems sincerely concerned (to me) that Republicans in California are too homophobic to be relied on to turn out for Grenell. They're engaging in an entirely separate pre-campaign to sell him to his own voters. That's what Caitlyn is about, in my opinion.

I don’t support Richard Grenell. I don’t mind that he’s a Republican. In fact, we need to have gay people in as many political parties as possible because it effects positive change in the long run. But I strongly disagree with Grenell's stance on Middle Eastern politics.

And yes, Trump opposed gay marriage until he stopped caring about the issue around 2016. Who cares? Gay marriage is legal all over America, it’s done, let’s move on and focus on dropping the T, then banning conversion therapy on gay, lesbian and bisexual teenagers. But Trump was bad for a lot of other reasons, and chief among them was the fact that Trump has never stood up for his supporters, so why stand up for Trump? In fact, why argue over him at all? Grenell should just focus on running for governorship and defeating both Newsome and Jenner. At least Grenell is not trying to pretend he’s something that he’s not.

Trump was bad for a lot of other reasons

Orange man bad, huh? Yawn. You know, twenty years ago, the Congressional Budget Office forecast that the national debt could be paid off by 2010. Economists argued in magazines and newspaper editorials over whether this would be a good thing for the economy.

Now it's more than $28 trillion. Some predict that it could reach $90 trillion by the end of the decade. Joe Biden has supported every boneheaded decision that got us on this unsustainable path. From his active participation in creating the WMD narrative that was used to justify the ruinous war in Iraq, to the Obama administration's protection of the banks and bankers (we still don't even know how many trillions they actually printed) while millions of families were evicted from their homes and lost everything. His support for normalizing trade relations with China that resulted in millions of jobs lost and plunged once-prosperous small towns, like mine, into poverty and mass unemployment. Real median household income in the USA peaked in 1999 and didn't exceed that level until near the end of the Obama/Biden administration.

So, the orange man was bad compared to that?

This is a bit off topic from Dropping the T, but USA has stagflation coming. Hyperinflation for sure, but then probably stagflation. I loathe Biden for so many reasons. Now he's running up the debt, inflating the money supply (inflation is up up up), AND always praising Trans Hell. He's all in for Newsom too -- the sleaze who signed the Wiener bill to put men in women's prisons.

I sure wish GOP in California at least would get over any homophobia and get behind Grenell (IF he's running -- he posts a lot on twitter about California specifically and he does have a home in Rancho Mirage) -- Seems like when the Democrats promote anyone gay, it's to score points. It would be nice for the GOP to get behind Grenell and not even mention he has a husband -- yeah, so? Some men do. Just normalize that for GOP voters and focus on fixing California.

In theory, a Governor Grenell could overturn the men in women's prisons bill, and thus show a gay man dropping the T. Sure love to see more of that happening.

Grenell might be a good governor of California. Definitely better than Jenner, for obvious reasons. And of course, Jenner would be better than Newsome.

Yeah, Biden sucks. It’s a shame that the media in my country worships him. Yeah, Biden's not Trump, but in what way is he better than Trump?

Biden is definitely worse than Trump. Way worse than Trump. A hundred times worse than Trump. But I still did not like Trump for many reasons:

  1. Air strikes on Syria. Syria, a country that’s not a threat to the United States.
  2. In 2017, when Erdogan was visiting Washington, there were anti-Erdogan protestors outside the building where Trump and Erdogan were meeting. Erdogan sent his bodyguards out to beat up and assault the protestors. These protestors were US citizens and legal residents on US soil, attacked by foreign thugs employed by a foreign government. Trump said nothing and swept it under the rug. There was no excuse for this blatant example of weakness. The least Trump should have done was closed the US embassy in Ankara for that episode, but nothing happened to Turkey.
  3. Beginning in 2018, hundreds of Trump supporters' accounts were banned from social media websites. Chief among them was Alex Jones, who played a big part in helping get Trump elected, and he was banned from almost every Silicon Valley platform. Trump did nothing to help get their channels back, nor did he do anything to punish these companies for censorship. Before anyone says "it’s a private company, they can do what they want", these companies have the power to influence elections and spread ideologies, and they refuse funds, tax breaks and bailouts from the US federal government, so this private company crap doesn’t work on me. Trump didn’t care when his supporters were getting banned off Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. But when those sites banned Trump in late 2020, all of a sudden he cared about big tech censorship and tried to do something about it. Too little, too late.
  4. In 2019, some pro-Trump conservative group had booked an event at a Trump hotel somewhere in Florida. That group got smeared by the ADL. What did Trump do? He banned them from speaking at his hotel, all to appease a group that hates Trump and despises his supporters.
  5. In early 2020, Trump took credit for the murder of Qasam Soleimani. Look, I despise the government of Iran, especially for what they do to gay people, but I’m against any war with Iran. Furthermore, Soleimani was invited by the Iraqi government to be in Iraq. On top of all that, Trump tried to bully other countries into boycotting Iran.
  6. And the worst thing Trump had done was impose lockdowns on America. He pressured the state government of Georgia to impose a lockdown. He even criticised the governments of Brazil and Sweden for refusing to lockdown, as if that was any of Trump's business. Lockdowns have destroyed the economy, have prevented people from seeing loved ones, have curtailed people’s civil liberties and have destroyed people’s mental health. You would believe that Trump was against the lockdowns if you watch CNN or RTÉ, but Trump started this shit. Yes, COVID is a deadly disease, but it’s only marginally worse than the flu. Most people who get it survive it.

There are many other stupid things that Trump did, like raise the smoking age to 21 (something which should be determined by the states, since America is a federation), give away billions of dollars in foreign aid when Americans cannot afford healthcare, living costs or debt repayments, or sign executive orders making it against the law to criticise Israel on college campuses, even though this goes against the first amendment.

Yes, Trump is definitely way better than Biden. But being better than Biden is just not good enough anymore. It’s easy to be better than Biden.
