On one hand, I’m glad they’re with each other and leaving gays and lesbians alone. Today, she posted about how her fiancé was so kind and helped her with her makeup and wardrobe for her first ever drag show.

Yeah, they're still not leaving gays and lesbians alone. She (at least) is still making money in a position an actual LGB person could be working to support themselves and now will be occupying the spot of a gay (or bisexual) male drag performer and thus siphoning money that way.

It also doesn't stop them from using her positions within our spaces to continue to harass gay men and lesbian women on behalf of any other "gay transman" or "lesbian transwoman" who saunter in.

Those are very good, and underappreciated, points.

I feel like it's easy to downplay the harms caused by the actions of people like those described in the post, since we so frequently see much more egregious harms done-- such as the encouragement of rape-by-deception among a vocal subset of trans-identified women and men.

These are both excellent points I hadn’t considered. Thank you for bringing them to the table!

You brought up a good point. The transman might be in a relationship with a heterosexual male who thinks he’s a woman, but she is still going to shame gay and bisexual men who refuse to date other transmem. And you still have to pretend that she’s a man if you don’t want to get banned from the gay bar she’s working at.

Apparently he’s been encouraging her to start doing drag.

So a straight man is encouraging his girlfriend to be more feminine. Never seen that before. 🙄

TIL a woman wearing a dress can now be considered drag.

I think my brain broke reading all that.

"gay" (= actually heterosexual) trans man = biological woman cosplaying as man "lesbian" (= actually heterosexual) trans woman = biological man cosplaying as a woman

These two people got together and their relationship is still "gay" somehow. Even if you accept their identities its still a man/woman relationship, aka het.

(I have no idea how it works in either of their heads because it aligns neither with reality nor trans delusion.)

Was going to say, that really doesn't make sense either according to reality or according to gender identity beliefs.

(I have no idea how it works in either of their heads because it aligns neither with reality nor trans delusion.)

I'm tempted to call that "cultural appropriation."

On one hand, I’m glad they’re with each other and leaving gays and lesbians alone. On the other, I cannot fathom how utterly fucking stupid our timeline is.

I completely agree, and I feel you. It's been making me feel depressed lately, stuff like this. Nobody wants to actually listen to gay/bisexual voices, they just have this idea in their heads of what "q*eer culture" is, "what those gays do/are like," and want to play dress up in order to "identify with" gay/bisexual people. According to the popular narrative in mainstream media, being same sex attracted means you have a certain haircut, you say certain phrases or hold certain political beliefs-- none of which has anything to do with the fact of loving people of the same sex as yourself.

Sorry to sound so negative lol, it just makes me feel a little hopeless to see people act like this and have (apparently) nobody care that such stereotypes harm people in minority groups. I've never heard someone call it "gayface" or "lesbianface" or "bisexualface" before, but that's kind of what I think of when I hear of or see straight people LARPing like this.

It’s always been this way, but now it’s much worse because the social and political beliefs you are “supposed to” hold are so toxic.

"Womanface" is making the rounds on Twitter currently.

They most likely will and then call the local news outlets about it.

OK, wait, lemme get this straight (no pun intended). A hetero woman transitioned into being "a man". A hetero man transitioned into being "a woman".

So two heterosexual people swapped gender - although in their minds, it was sex/biology - and are now in a relationship with each other. So two heteros are together.

But they both think they are gay? What???

She had a long post about how they examined their preferences and realized they were both more fluid.

Ummmm ... there is literally no fluidity. It's male/female partnering, you're just pretending to switch sides and calling it "gender" when it suits you. A man giving women makeup tips isn't breaking apart gender norms at all, and it certainly has no bearing on sexual orientation.

[–]xanditAGAB (Assigned Gay at Birth) 9 insightful - 3 fun9 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

I think it meant they were both gay (heterosexual woman to trans man gay) and heterosexual male to tw gay) then they examine preferences and decided that they were actually capable of heterosexuality. So they actually looped back to their starting points as heterosexuals. Seems like the gender in their head wasn’t as strong as biology.

[–]julesburm1891[S] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You got this all correct, Tumbleweed. They’re two straight people who took a bunch of extra steps to still be straight. Yet, they are pretending to be gay and the man of the relationship is dressing up the woman in outfits he likes.

So...if you are FTM and doing drag that means you are...presenting as a woman?

Even transgender people know deep down that sexual orientation is based on sex, not some made up spiritual "gender".

I find it hilarious how your acquaintance's fiancé is encouraging her to take up drag. It sounds like he is detransitioning his "boyfriend". It will be interesting to see what happens several years down the line.

When you’re so gaytranskweer you can’t successfully imitate men or women… what a pitiful and sad state of existence. I can’t even be bothered to care about my hair that much, let alone a madeup gender…

She bartends at a gay club

WTF.

That is some nonsense.

Not only does she not belong there as a straight woman, she took a job away from a gay man.

Duck her.
