Twitter thread about it. This guy, @TullipR on Twitter, also claims to be a mod of r/detrans; this is unverifiable, because the r/detrans mod list is currently hidden (undoubtedly for safety reasons).

I do think it's weird that they didn't even attempt to contact him... but I'm also glad that his story is getting more attention. What do you guys think?

edit: I forgot to add-- the original article also had misinformation. From the article:

TullipR says that he began transitioning at 25. He took female hormone drugs bought privately

This seems to suggest that he self-medicated. But he says that he never did.

Honestly I'm suspicious about this guy.

According to his posts on detrans he passes 100% as a "CIS" woman. On twitter he wrote about still taking female hormones because he would hate it to go back to looking like a man.

There is something about him that irks me, and I'm not sure I believe everything he says

Wait, do you have a link to that? I'd be curious to see that, seeing as his other comments tell users to not encourage someone to transition.

Here's his pictures timeline. No idea how obviously male his body shape is, but he looks closer to passing in those pictures than many men (transwomen) I've seen.

Though I do find it kinda weird that he made this post thanking the mod team when he is literally on the mod team, lol. Not that they don't deserve appreciation! But it comes across like he's thanking himself.

I hope I'm not mistaking him with a different guy, but I swear I remember him mentioning that he completely passes. ( I have to look that up later tonight, when I'm on my computer, not my phone. I think I maybe saved one of his rants)

I've seen his photos before, and while he looks androgynous enough, I thought that could be filters and photoshop. None of them pass in candid full-body photos that are not edited.

Also, I also think I remember him saying he is in a relationship with a woman. So ... if that's not a fellow dude who also LARPs as a woman, he is not homosexual either.

ETA: I can't find that user saying they pass 100% anymore, and also not the comment talking about being with a woman, though he always thought he would be only interested in men. Maybe I'm really mixing him up with another detrans guy. Sorry.

The Washington Post also just went through a huge controversy over someone claiming to interview specific people for a story and it turned out to be false. Then they retroactively sent some emails after the people complained and tried to play it off as the people in question never responded.

I think it's mostly one psycho writer but the newspaper backed up her crazy after the fact.

I remember similar stories to that, I don't trust WaPo at all.
