Just throwing this in here because I'm not sure it qualifies as a post: Here's a long list of LGB-adjacent resources and people who have contributed to a better understanding of detransitioners' health, anti-LGB discrimination, and other related topics! "It’s Pride Month! Here’s how I’m celebrating" (shared from Twitter)

Anyone have any fun summer activities planned?

You have the marshmallows and graham crackers, I'll take the chocolate.

Backcountry camping, though not for a while yet.

That sounds fun! Do you like to go on long backpacking-type hikes, or just get out into the wilderness and stay in one spot?

Oh, I don't have the endurance for the former. So I'll have to say the latter. Frankly, it's only technically "backcountry" because that's the official designation when the camp area is a certain distance away from any highway or park road. And as long as it's far enough out to minimize light pollution and see the 🌌 at night, it's good enough for us.

I have read up on all the books that I couldn't read during the term. I'm on my 5:th book and I have a month of vacation left!

Nice job!! Man, I have such a long list. I keep meaning to read Helen Joyce's book still. I've been terrible about keeping up with reading, though.

Good evening, I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

It's been so dry lately, but I've been wanting to start a fire to make some fire roasted hot dogs and s'mores.

I did, thanks! Hope you did too.

That sounds really nice. I enjoy roasting stuff over fires but never can be bothered to get a fire set up... Fortunately, I have a friend who has an awesome outdoor firepit situation so I might try to talk her into hosting, lol.

Yes! I'm house-sitting for my mom and she has a fantastic fire pit on a house surrounded by forests and mountains. It's very easy to start a fire but I know there was a fire ordinance...

Roast corn and sweet potatoes are also so good! What do you like to cook on a fire?

Oh damn, that sounds so tempting. Good luck retaining your willpower!

I usually just stick with the basic hot dogs + smores combo. (I'm someone who's too impatient/careless to get the marshmallow right and I usually end up torching it, haha.) But roast corn is really good! Maybe I'll remember to bring corn next time now.

I put butter and salt on the corn and then wrap them up in tinfoil before throwing on the coals. Definitely give it a try!

Fellow roast-corn fan, have you ever tried this indoors version?: Alexia Mexican Street Corn-- frozen, topped with a yummy sauce, cooks in a container that's both conventional-oven and microwave-safe. SOOOO good! I've been having it as a side dish with La Preferida's tamales and Spanish Rice (plus homemade guacamole). How can stuff from the grocery store freezer, a can (???), and a box, respectively, measure up to my fave Mexican restaurant??? Don Juan, I'm sorry to tell ya, but you've got competition...

I have never heard of that! Looks like they sell it on Amazon, but I would probably not trust their food, lol.

Honestly, I've been pleasantly surprised sometimes. There are so many garbage pre-made frozen foods that I'm always shocked when I find a good one. Makes me wonder if there's a self-fulfilling prophecy going on there; people expect it to be bad, so companies that make it don't bother trying...?
