Like the title says, this is just a personal vent post. One of my favorite lesbian content creators deleted all her lesbian-centric Youtube videos. The reason? All the male viewers. She realized that most of her viewers were not her intended audience (AKA females) and became uncomfortable. So she deleted the videos and now she's getting death threats. I presume most of it is coming from the gender crowd, as she specifically mentioned dropping the T in her explanation post. And she also mentioned she's been getting threats specifically over accusations of transphobia.

So yeah. Some of my favorite youtube videos are permanently gone and I get another very close to home reminder of how fucking awful the gender crowd is. I can't even blame her for deleting the videos, given the kind of content it is. I would also be uncomfortable leaving up romantic and somewhat sensual videos if I knew it was mostly males watching it. And of course the TIMs couldn't just leave it at that. Of course they have to threaten and harass her over the videos within the hour of them being deleted. Ugh. Fuck TIMs.

Ugh I’m sorry you lost a meaningful connection to the lesbian community. Whenever I see obvious male commentary below lesbian/wlw content it squicks me out and makes me feel so violated, and then angry that we’re basically prohibited from defending our ground. There have been times I’ve thought about putting my own content out there and the idea that it would likely attract creepy colonizers who want to wear our skin has been a major deterrent.

Also curious about who the YouTuber is and to read her explanation post. I hope she’s OK and weathers the storm, and eventually finds a safer home for her content.

I have reached the conclusion that the only way for lesbians to have anything is for it to be underground, accessible only through heavy vetting, and with significant deterrents in place to keep colonizers away.

There have been times I’ve thought about putting my own content out there and the idea that it would likely attract creepy colonizers who want to wear our skin has been a major deterrent.

I hope she’s OK and weathers the storm, and eventually finds a safer home for her content.

I also hope she'll be ok, but based on her post and other comments it seems unlikely she'll ever reupload any of her lesbian-centric stuff anywhere online, unfortunately.

Goddamnit. I had a feeling it was ASMR. I have searched for ASMR produced by lesbians geared toward other lesbians but I could never find anything beyond the wall of porn for men and creepy anime for fetishists stuff.

What a bummer.

I'm so sorry. :( I'd never heard of that youtuber before but that's incredibly messed up. Just another example of the way that TRA homophobia affects and harms us.
