There's a lot to take in here.

As long as you identify as transgender and your application is accepted (that is a red flag for corruption if I've seen one) you can receive $1,200 a month for 18 months from the City of San Francisco.

  1. I don't support income programs like this because I don't believe they actually help poor people. They foster dependency and stifle development, and they cause inflation that negates the purpose of providing the assistance to begin with. The usage of the money usually has to be limited to curtail fraud, and predatory businesses will move in and tailor their prices to exactly match the stipend amounts.

  2. It's unconstitutional favoritism for a specific group.

  3. There are over a hundred genders listed, including gems like "maverique" and "travesti."

Honestly, a pretty good drag name. As a gender, according to a quick Google search it means:

Maverique is a term for a non-binary gender identity that is defined by autonomy and view about one's internal sense of self which is not related to or derived from manhood or womanhood, but also is not neutrois or a form of agender.

So this is being coordinated through Lyon-Martin Community Health Services, which I'm presuming was named after lesbian activists Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon. At its webpage is this:

"The mission of Lyon-Martin Community Health Services is to provide high quality, compassionate and trauma-informed medical, gynecological, and mental health care services to trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and intersex (TGI) communities and cis-gender women with specific sensitivity to LGBQA sexual orientation...."

Notice who's listed first there...what a fucking disgrace to the memory of Del and Phyllis.

In case it wasn't made clear in the OP, I think this is a money laundering scheme. You don't have to provide any proof of gender identity, so theoretically anyone can qualify. This money is going to go to political allies of whoever is handling this office in San Francisco.

I read the article on this and appearently this policy is going to help 55 people.SF population is around 815,201 people.If i was living there i'd be pissed at how this government is focusing on helping literally 5 people and not the majority.
