I'm an atheist from a family of Baptists. For the most part, my mom's side isn't super religious, but my dad's side is batshit with their religion.

Being lesbian was probably the best thing that ever happened to me, in a weird way. I wanted nothing to do with men, so my family couldn't marry me off and chain me down with babies before I even had time to find myself, no matter how much social pressure they piled on. My horror at the idea of sleeping with a man kept me strong lol.

same. like even if I was straight chances are I would not have been happy in a semi arranged marriage. and I've never wanted to become pregnant, which is a given in the community. and even before I came out I never really fit in to the community

Atheist.

Raised born-again Christian but had all the usual problems. Found neo-paganism in my late teens and haven't looked back. Currently a practicing Sabbatic Witch with a burgeoning interest in Alchemy.

Raised Lutheran, but now agnostic.

My religious background would be that I come from a muslim family, albeit my immediate family (mother, aunt and so on and so forth) are and has "always" been quite secular. As for my personal beliefs, I've never been religious, never believed in a diety that created the world and so on and so forth.

Technically born Catholic, baptized and all that. It was really just a church on Christmas and Easter type of thing for my immediate family, and even that stopped when I was 11/12, though. As a kid I guess I was agnostic, now just atheist.

On some birth records (not birth certificate; I was born prematurely by 3 months w/ my fraternal twin sister): Methodist (like how is a baby supposed to know what religion he/she is!?) Got baptised as a baby, and went through confirmation as a teenager (13). Dad is Roman Catholic (he was raised Roman Catholic) and Mom is Episcopalian (Raised Protestant) I went through a period of being an Atheist, then went back to Christianity (no specific denomination) In my late teenager years (18-19), I decided to look into Masorti Judaism, and I still believe in a G-d, but I don't really go to any religious worship areas, because I wasn't born Jewish (I have evidence that a ancestor of mine is either Ashkenazi Jewish or Shepardi Jewish.). I currently put down "nothing in particular", because I'm not an Atheist, but not Jewish nor Christian. I plan on the process into conversion into Masorti Judaism within the next two years or so.

welcome to the Jewish community then 🤗 when you go to the rabbi for conversion show him the proof of a Jewish ancestor. Anyone can convert but they make it easier if you have Jewish blood

Thanks. also, thanks for the information about the ancestry.

I was raised a reform Jew and continue to practice. I don't keep kosher and don't often observe the sabbath, but I do go to High Holy Days services, and I'm relatively active in my synagogue. :)

No spiritual beliefs, family religious background is Irish Lutheran, if that is a thing. My immediately family don’t do religion, not completely against it, but just don’t practice or involve themselves.

Raised Black Southern Baptist, but I'm spiritual agnostic. I'm fascinated by all our scientific discoveries on the universe and our own evolution and often daydream about what other universes and lifetimes would be like but I don't have any answers on the afterlife and kind of just focus on making a positive impact in the world during my limited time here and hopefully the next life, whatever it is, is as beautiful and complicated as this life has been.

Grew up with both Jewish and Christian holidays, technically fully Jewish but definitely not religious. Still celebrate some holidays but it's more a chance to see family.

I grew up Catholic but I've been an atheist for as long as I remember. I dabble in occult stuff because I like rituals and symbology, but I'm not super serious or disciplined about it.

I was raised Missouri Synod Lutheran and read evangelical bible studies every day when I was in middle school. Those bible studies encouraged a lot of guilt over sins and it made my teenage years difficult. I became an atheist when I was 20. Since then I have dabbled with witchcraft and thought the rituals were beautiful but do not believe in it.

Attended a "community church" non denominational or some shit. Definitely was community oriented Christianity which didn't conform to any of the total segments you'd think of (Lutheran, Baptist, methodist, etc.) Sent to church camp for 3 summers (5th-7th grade aka 10-12) and refused to go summer before 8th grade because i began to know i was different and likely a lesbian. Since it was 01-04 I was able to Google this (lol, right?) and "confirm" I was definitely gay.

Currently, I'm agnostic. I believe in the energy we all have and release and recycle. The universe if that makes it easier to understand. Our energy doesn't disappear, but it might be repurpased into karma. IDK lol.
