Retired goth kid. Or gothic business casual. My wardrobe doesn't really have anything that isn't black, white, dark red, dark green or dark navy. Tight-fit black turtle necks, white button-up shirts, dark red sweater dresses, black blazers, black heeled boots, no logos, etc. I don't like to stand out, but I like a tailored fit.

Same, minus dresses. Add turquoise and bright green.

"Gothic business casual" is my new favorite phrase.

Previously I was cutting my hair short to be more "boy"-ish, as people hated me for my sexual orientation and I was thinking that I was just a boy as "only boys can love girls". I was always dyeing my hair to black, sometimes was wearing goth dresses or more often "goth boy" costumes with hats. Wasn't helping, tho, as I was still looking way too feminine. I was not wearing any collars or braceletes (or even handwatch), as I am feeling too restricted with them and panicing.

Nowadays I am not cutting my hair short, and staying with my natural red hair color. Wearing mostly business casual style, or jeans with top, or summer dresses (at summer). Almost on every job I ignore dress code as well. I am very active when walking or running around, so almost always I have shorts under dresses or skirts - because I can do different flips or climb around. I prefer soft green, violet, peach or black colors. I am not sure if I have a style, but almost no one else is wearing shades of violet, so everyone can recognize me from far away.

I'm a student, so it's mostly jeans and converse for everyday, and neutral colours. Heels occasionally, makeup if I feel like it. I do love a well-fitted jacket or blazer.

My style is what I would call working cowgirl casual, because I am an actual working rancher. My closet looks like it’s sponsored by Ariat jeans, Wrangler pearl snap button down shirts, Stetson hats and Tony Lama boots. It’s all more function than fashion. I feel like I should add that they are all fitted women’s cuts, so for where I live it’s a fem look and other places not so much. I spend more money, and am more concerned, on what my horses wear then I do for my self. I have shorter and soft layered hair, I love it because it always looks great and I don’t have to blow dry or brush it.

Very feminine or business casual.

Pretty much the same as the band Savages (that’s the closest comparison I can find, especially Gemma), but more dyke. More flannel and more docs, more punk

Edit: right now i am in Summer Goth mode.

I vary between tailored goth/punk and tomboy-ish 90's aesthetic. But i can also be tailored tomboy-ish or 90's femme-ish. Right now my hair is short

Jeans and a t-shirt at work and on the rare occasion I need to walk somewhere (plus a polar fleece jacket and a rubberized coat in winter), MTB cycling clothes outside. (I ride a road bike now, but I don't have road clothes). I haven't cut my hair in two years (poor + busy + covid) and broke all three plastic headbands in the meantime so it's shoulder-length with an athletic headband now.

Sporty, overalls, sneakers, tank tops, boots, sweat pants.

I love vintage clothes anything floral or with long floaty fabric. I also sometimes make clothes , sometimes they look like something a kid would wear but idc. And also really over the top headbands and flower crowns!

Simple and cutesy. Dress with tops. Overall. Oversize clothes. Any colours, from colourful to dark colours. I do want to try to get into dark clothes.

I am very femme in style. I stick to Boho 70s type kind of laid-back clothes and lots of pastels. Very much a chapstick femme haha. Think vintage striped sweaters, lots of color, ripped shorts, florals, and ringer tees

Hairstyle - I've always had it medium/long and I'd straighten it, but I just might leave it natural now (wavy)

Clothing- If Ellen Page shopped at Old Navy

Also OP - if kids pulled off flares in the 70s and 90s, so can you (and I say this lovingly as another 5'0 fter)

ahhh great thread, love to hear ppl talk about their style/inspirations!! i do like a 70s-90s grunge hippie sort of thing, lots of flannels & florals & boots in a loose, bulky silhouette. i try to stick to purchasing darker, less saturated colors that can be more easily mixed & matched but that only works about 60% of the time lol.

PNW greaser punk; lots of rolled jeans, graphic/band tees, vests, low top sneakers, diy'ing all my clothes/painting my shoes, and lots of denim on denim. I wear my hair natural, short wild kinks and curls.

Very much a chapstick lesbian, don't wear any makeup at all anymore, been embracing my body in its natural state and focusing on feeling good and enjoying all the things my body can do for me and that's been a nice change!

I mostly wear t shirt and button ups but during the summer I will also wear skirts and dresses. My clothes are all darker shades and floral. I like cardigans and comfy grandma-ish clothes. I have long hair that I leave down or braided. I'm also covered in tattoos so it's a bit of an eccentric look.

I have a very classic style. For the past few months I've looked like this just with different color top (yeah, I don't change my clothes often, devs have low standards)

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I try to go for a mix of 80s goth, mod, and punk, but it winds up just looking like jeans and a t-shirt.

[–]Urzsiah 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't know that I really have a defined "style," but I usually wear skinny jeans and t-shirts and boots or sneakers. Usually dark colors and my shirts are frequently something nerdy. I wear lipstick occasionally but that's pretty much it for makeup. I'm boring lol

I wear whatever I feel like and feel comforteble in a wide range of things but the common template is that if my pants (or whatever I’m wearing on the bottom) are wide and billowy, my top is very fitted, or the reverse. I like different textures and playing with the same color in different textures but I don’t tend to wear a lot of things with patterns. If I do, the pattern is far away from my face and the rest of what I’m wearing is pattern-free. I also like black and dark colored clothing but I drown in dark colors unless I wear something dark on or around my face like glasses or eyeliner or something. My natural coloring is just naturally very muted, light, and low contrast so bright colors and black look off without some adjustments.

Mainly just shorts and t-shirts in summer, with the occasional long skirt. I run, and I'll wear a lot of race t-shirts even if I'm not working out. When it cools down a bit, I'll wear my old lady button up dress shirts (vintage, synthetic fabric, usually with some flowery embroidery). In fall and winter, obligatory plaid shirts, tacky vintage sweaters (again, often flowery), and I've got a thing for kilts.

I'd describe my personal style as "got dressed in the dark at REI"
