So. Sick. Of. This. Phrase.
Am I the only one who has to deal with this?? I'm sick of lesbian couples being seen as "cute" and somehow infantile and not like a proper adult relationship?? I never hear straight couples being deemed totes adorbs to the same extent, but straight friends who I've introduced girlfriends to have almost always said a variant of this phrase. As if we're playing pretend at a relationship and we're two 8yos pretending to be together on the playground
Idk if I'm overreacting but I need to vent about this because I'm so sick of the double standard. It's like a "bless their hearts" sort of thing, like we don't realise our relationship isn't "serious" and everyone else is pretending along because everyone knows women can't have real relationships together, because relationships without a penis don't exist. DUH
I ALSO always see this exclusively from straight women. Anyone else relate to this?
