It's fucking crazy how hostile and abusive software is toward end users today. Designed to serve the creator, not the end user, from the bottom to the top. Every decision developers make, is about making their job easier and/or more profitable, and they don't care how it impacts you or the usability of their products.
Windows is the biggest example of this, but Canonical seems to be heading in the same direction now. I suppose it is inevitable whenever software goes mainstream. Thankfully Blender is still on the user's side, and doesn't at all feel like the people in charge of the product are mistreating us or pushing unwelcome policies upon us.
