This would have been a good idea! Too late for me, though. I really wish I had, if only because when I google my old Reddit username + Reddit, all of my old posts still come up... and I would just truly like those 100% deleted (I'm not ashamed of them, it's just stuff I don't want cluttering up a google search bar, which would ideally show nothing if my account were 'truly deleted').

It is also more likely that the placeholder content is cached rather than the original comment.

There was a greasemonkey script that would over write all the comments, years ago.

I got kinda annoyed when I went to a help thread for a computer problem, found a Reddit thread that's a few years old only to find the comment with the solution was re-written with the blurb about Reddit's comment system and how the user deleted their account.

That would suck. I used to think of reddit as the quickest solution to most tech issues. I'm so disgusted with that place now it's a last resort.

I miss when Reddit used to actually allow free speech. Now they're openly censoring right-wing subreddits in the name of free speech.

The only reason I still visit Reddit is because of the porn. Even then, /u/spez will probably censor those subs too soon enough.
