Reddit API changes may restrict access to alternative clients and frontends
submitted 11 months ago by Drewski from self.MeanwhileOnReddit
Update 2: Reddit's proposed API changes, and the continued existence of RedReader
Had a few calls with Reddit today about the announced Reddit API changes that they're putting into place, and inside is a breakdown of the changes and how they'll affect Apollo and third party apps going forward.
libreddit: Reddit's API changes #785
teddit: Reddit API changes #400
The desktop site has become such trash, and I can't speak for the app which is supposedly worse. If I can't use teddit anymore I'll probably stop using the site altogether.

reddit has the weirdest user base. there is such a weird, frenetic energy about it. Ima be honest, half the interactions I had felt like bots that were intentionally trying to get me pulled into conflict. Like, that's the ficking BUSINESS MODEL! Can you imagine being a C-level and knowing that half your user base were bots????
