OP phrased it too gently. Knowingly subjecting your kids to a lifetime of incurable illness is beyond selfish.

But not existing is not better 😯

Why? OP wouldn't even know if he didn't exist.

Some people die young anyways. If you had a crystal ball and saw you were going to die at 36, would you just say nah fuck it, this ain't worth it?

OP has the privilege of being mad over his circumstance.

If I had a neurodegenerative disease that would have turned me into a manic, drooling vegetable by that time, then yes. Absolutely.

Being mad at your parents for being dumb, conformist, selfish pieces of shit is not a privilege.

Huntington's is a pretty horrific way to die. If I was diagnosed with it, I would honestly start making plans for assisted suicide when the time came, before the suffering became unbearable.

Understandable.

It's a raw deal for sure, but how is dying young not still better than never existing?

Well, I guess if they feel their life has-been/is/will-be more painful than rewarding, it's not irrational to think nonexistance is better. I hope he lives long enough to decide otherwise, but I can't judge his life.
