Which sub was this on? I hope you take screenshots whenever you do or see something so they'd be useful in future.

You can delete PMs though? Example: https://i.imgur.com/b5wHhSf.png
Or are you talking about something else.

Oh, yeah, you're right about that. I tried with a different PM thread, the way it works is very weird. You can still get your PMs deleted if they're a response to a PM, since if you delete a PM it deletes all children as well. Now that I know about this, it bugs me too haha

It feels strange that our parents told us not to reveal our info on the internet all those years ago and it didn't really matter until recently.

It even worse when the comments are months old and someone reports it, like what motivated r/piracy to delete everything that was older than 6 months, but now you showed that if the admins there are looking for an excuse, they will look at them even if they are "deleted", there is no hope for reddit

They read people's private messages too.

Yeah, the admins. They were suspending people for sharing links to the Christchurch mosque shooting video in PMs, for example. I doubt they're looking through PMs all the time, but they definitely do it.

Isn't this stuff already widely known? Sites like removeddit rely on the fact Reddit doesn't actually delete things properly.
