So this trans writer just got attacked by the trans community because they thought her trans-friendly story was transphobic.

The magazine Clarkesworld published a story by (then closeted) trans author Isabel Fall, called "I Sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter". It's about a protagonist who actually does identify as an attack helicopter.
The piece backfired. Now the author is outed, the trans community is up in arms, and the magazine has pulled the story. Here's the link for those interested in it:

That a trans person wrote the article makes the backlash even more confounding. Considering that the trans movement wants to be free to fully express themselves, to not be closeted or silenced any more, it does seem strange to then wish to silence others, including those within their own community. Strange times, gender-neutral-salutation, strange times.
