This is "social insanity". Our society has adopted a bunch of premises which are mutually incompatible. Trying to hold on to a self-contradictory code makes people insane. The Carnival brawl of a few days ago is a result of the same insanity.

These "moms" are desperately unhappy. They are miserable. It doesn't excuse what they are doing, and they must face the full consequences of these acts. That said, pretending that they are simply "evil" or "stupid" is too simple. Only true misery could lead to behavior such as this.

It's up to each and every one of these miserable people to fix her own life. Nobody can (or should try to) do that for her. This is the primary mistake our culture dove into since the Great Depression - the idea that one person's problems should be solved by another person or group of people. It cannot ever work. It's between that individual and God, however that person perceives God. Until people like these "moms" dig into themselves and sort out their own shit (not looking for some outside "savior"), the continuation of our societal dissolution proceeds.
