Halloween is just the old new year's eve in western Europe.

In most cultures it's thought that communication with the ancestors is easier at new year and a good thing so you can reflect on your own situation and choices. Halloween is named after a Christian festival of all hallows eve, the day before all saints day when you were supposed to be able to pray to all the dead true Christians (not just official saints).

Also Jewish new year is not that far off Halloween so I doubt Jesus would have been against it. They have similar beliefs that the old prophets come back and commune with them around that time.

I'm so glad I'm not forced to use the phrase "Most High". I wonder how many regions actually do that? You know, control how you think and speak.
Shalom.

I mean "most high" makes it sound a lot like there are other gods knocking around.

Yeah, there always were other gods. Yahweh was just one in a pantheon of Canaanite gods. The monotheism thing was a much later creation. It happened when the Jews were exiled. By tradition Yahweh would have been considered 'slain' by Marduk when the Jews were defeated by the Babylonians, but were not down with this and ended up saying Yahweh was not dead, and in fact was the highest/only true god. Traces of this still exist in the OT "You shall have no other gods before Me" implies they exist, and are real enough to be jealous of their worship.

The existence of other gods was never denied. 1 Corinthians 10:20 warns about sacrifices made to other gods. And "Beelzebub" was the Philistine god. The satan was considered the god or one of the major rulers ("archons") of this universe.

Well, somewhere along the way Beelzebul became a demon, and not a god in his own right. Even the spelling you use is not correct and a one-off slur. Beelzebul means something like 'lord of heaven' while beelzebub' is 'lord of the flies'

Satan was not considered a god of any earlier pantheon as far as I am aware of, and it is debatable whether this 'opposer' label even refers to a specific entity

It can be anyone when it's just a שטן. But when it's השטן with the definite article, and there's no other context specifying who it is, it does indeed refer to a specific entity.
