Quaternions just seem like a piece of madness. But they're somehow still useful. They're one of those concepts that remind me that I just don't understand the reality of math.

A deep theorem from algebra states that there are only number "fields" isomorphic to Z_p ( p is prime) , Q, R, H and O, everything else is isomorphic to one of them under the same assumptions.
