I was annoyed when I found out the Amazons were from Greece instead of the Amazon rain forest in Brazil. False advertising!

I had a professor in college who spent a lot of time in Mongolia with the tribes there and he said the women were totally amazing archers on their horses. They could hit targets really far away using both arms/hands and somehow still control their horses with their legs. So as of about 20 years ago, these Amazon women still existed in the area that this article mentions.
