I was told by a UK police officer than US police are more likely to be shot by a colleague than a criminal. So they are even more dangerous to each other.

The US is 40x larger than the UK geographically, so of course there is a huge range of different pronunciations.

There are three ways I have heard, "wader," "water," and, the British, "hwauter."

If you take a look at people killed by cops, nearly all are career criminals armed with a gun or a knife when killed.

Yes you do have a lot of asshole cops who've shot the unarmed.

The higher death toll is largely a function of the high gun use by American criminals teamed up with cops afraid of being killed by criminals with guns.

That's it in a nutshell. With millions of people walking around with pistols stuck in their belts I think I'd be a bit trigger happy myself.

Everyone I know carries. I dont know anyone who has shot a person stateside.

I'm pretty sure that Americans are more likely to shoot themselves than anyone else, either accidentally or suicide.

Soldiers, cops, and prisoners are all over the world. The U.S. just happens to be perpetually at war overseas and domestically, so the numbers seem higher. The U.S. has more law enforcement personnel per capita than any other nation on earth, more combat veterans, and more prisoners at any given time.

Then you move in civilized circles I expect. But I was talking from the viewpoint of a cop. A cop in uniform is a natural target of distrust if not hate, even where I live in OZ. About ten years ago all the patrol cops here started to wear vests, before that they just carried them in the boot in case a call involved firearms. Then a few were shot and killed so they upped the level of defense. This is Australia, where no one hardly carries a gun, even the average criminal. I imagine in the states with all the murders going on all the time the cops are very wary.

We dont have many murders where I live, because everyone carries. The cops just expect than you have a gun, so that's the first question they ask. And in my opinion, they should be very wary.

What are the reasons a mass shooter uses. What are the reasons the police use?

It makes a difference.

Automobiles kill more than both. You will be losing your ability to drive legally within 30 years.

Self drive will come in. Most Americans already drive automatics so they can't really complain. More competent countries might kick up a fuss though.

And Im sure way more people are killed by criminals on the street...so what's the point..this is like comparing apples to lemonade..how many people you think break the law yearly. It would be frightening if mass shootings was even close.
