Either you make the thoughts in your head, or they come from elsewhere.
You have thoughts that make you suffer, give you moral pain, make you feel terrible, etc. EVERYBODY DOES.
Therefore you are insane, since you create thoughts that harm you.
Being insane and into self-harm, you enjoy sticking knives into your flesh, disfiguring yourself, making yourself bleed, even maiming yourself. It's fun, right?
Except no, you don't. Specifically because YOU ARE NOT INSANE, nor into self-mutilation and harm.
How is this possible?
It is because thoughts come from elsewhere.
I know, that's a hard pill to swallow, especially given our rationalistic society has fully embraced the "I think therefore I am" bullshit from René Descartes, a couple centuries ago or so. This has twisted our cultures into ones that identify with thought, instead of keeping a safe distance from them.
One of the major advantages of religions is that they taught people that thoghts could "come from Satan" or some other sort of cautionary advice, such as Buddhism's. All of these caution people from believing the thoughts in their heads too much, and rely on a moral compass to sift "bad" thoughts from "good" ones.
But... No more! Nowadays, it's "I think this, therefore I am this". And also "I feel bad when you say this, therefore you shouldn't be allowed saying that" which is a corollary and primary derivation of the former. It is degeneracy in action.
Now, I am not a religious believer, more the contrary. But I can see the advantages of a society dominated by moral principles that enforce conformity towards "good", even though it might be based on belief and dogma. The alternative is the disgusting degeneracy of our days, leading to communism.
Go ahead, prove me wrong.
