It might be better to decrease the waiting period (or remove it altogether) for new accounts. 2 weeks sounds like an awfully long time...

I came here to create a sub and now I gotta wait 2 whole weeks... :(

As someone with a new account, I think no. Wait until we get to know people before they are allowed to squat on a sub forever and control it.

If you're hot to trot admins can create a sub for you, but you won't get the "created by" credit.

It seemed like a while when I did it, but I think it ultimately makes sense. Better to learn a little about the community and people here before creating your own sub-community.
