Subreddit creation threshold should be lowered to 24 hours or so, just during Saidit's fledgling stage

The website is experiencing a boom and that is fantastic. Lots of curious and legitimate users are pouring in from reddit.

The thing is, a lot of us want to participate in communities that do not yet exist. I for example participated in /r/AnimalCrossing a lot, and having /s/AnimalCrossing would be a godsend for me. I like to think that I'm patient enough to wait two weeks to create the community, or maybe a bit earlier if someone does before me. But I strongly doubt that most people share my attitude.

My suggestion is to lower the time barrier to 24 hours alongside another barrier, like a certain amount of karma (with no downvotes, this is a great metric). The three basics reasons are:

  1. Decreases member outflow. When a new user has a community they are interested in, they'll keep coming back.

  2. Increases reach. If /s/AnimalCrossing existed, members from /r/AnimalCrossing, Instagram, and other sites might join Saidit.

  3. It's easy to maintain while Saidit is nascent. Not too many subs are going to be created due to low-ish user count and the 1-week-between-creation rule. If there's any glaring problems, it shouldn't be too difficult for the admin team to deal with it due to low volume.

Yeah with new people coming in droves, 2 weeks of ONLY boring political shit will be enough to drive most straight back out.

This is where I'm coming from in a personal sense. Front page is just back-and-forths between radical feminists and alt-right armchair political scientists. When it's not that, it's just talk about saidit itself. New is full of weird posts from that Ice Poseidon sub so it's not any better. I just want a community and saidit isn't furnishing that for me right now. I'm not trying to complain, just voicing how I feel.

It appears Saidit is currently strongly against creating subs quicker.
I even asked /u/magnora7 if he could personally create some subs and simply relinquish ownership later if he doesn't want to mod them, but got no reply - I assume this simply wont happen.
