None. I never asked for the feature and never needed it. I am capable of ignoring people I don't know what all the fuss is about

Yeah. I recognized this as my tactic, too.

I do not mean to imply its a superfluous feature but since i started growing here, i just feel like i don't need it anymore.

Zero. I also don't plan on using that feature. The last thing I want is to be caged in an echo chamber. Let's face it: Most people aren't interested in truth. They are interested in CONFIRMING that what they already believe is the truth. Confirmation bias if you will, and echo chambers play straight to that hand.

But doing so is tantamount to self-harm: being deluded into believing that certain falsehoods, which you hold dear, are the truth when they are in fact terrible lies, is not beneficial.

In the end, it boils down to what people come here for: feel better about their hubris and delusions, or ACTUALLY exchange and learn?

Wanting an echo chamber isn't the only reason to block people, there are malicious actors sometimes. I agree though. I only blocked the guy that spammed gay porn.

    Step one: go to s/all, sort by new

    Step two: half of what you see will be series of the same dumb posts, spammed in seven different subs by the same user.

    Step three: block every user that does this.

    Step four: while you're at it, mute the most common offending subs for this kind of user

    Step five: a saidit browsing experience that almost doesn't suck!

    Anyway, lots of people blocked. Great feature!

    None. Because as an adult I can either debate someome worth debating, or ignore them.

    Let's face it, the block feature is for the thin skinned left.

    One, as a test and because he was spamming big bold text to prove that blocking doesn't work. Odd enough, as soon as blocking was implemented people who were worth of blocking (for spam or 0 signal\noise ratio) seemingly disappeared or something.

    None. I am subscribed to subs where people are usually nice so I do not have a need for a feature like this (yet). On the other hand, where can I see how many people are BANNING ME?
