Suggestion: "open links in a new window" should apply to every link element.

I keep "open links in a new window" checked, so I can open posts in a new tab, but that doesn't apply to any of the links up top — most notably: the inbox. Technically they ain't the same thing as link posts, but it would be nice if there was an option to open those in a new tab too.

I would quite like a more general "open all links in a new window" option, so that every link element on the site opens in a new tab. I don't know if anyone else would use it, but I surely would. I don't think having it all be one option is a good idea, though, since some people just want the link posts to open in a new tab, and everything else to stay.

Just middle-mouse-button click your links? That will open them in a new tab :) I do this a lot

Why is the inbox icon only 15 * 10 pixels? I feel bad for 4k users.

Because when this site was originally designed, most monitors were 1024x768 or less. Ideally everything would be a percentage of the screen rather than a set pixel amount, but there's a lot to reconfigure to make that possible

Because browsers allow users to have custom scaling, the em unit might be better than vw.

Wrap the mail link in a wrapper that has a fixed width of 1.5 em. Change #mail's respective css to max-width: 100%, height: auto.

Whoops, all the icons are in one image file. I don't know a simple way to stretch them without javascript.

Also, you wouldn't want to stretch them anyways. The icons would need to be redrawn or ASCII alternatives used (✉💌📩📨).

Would be nice for mobile, but I've gotten so used to holding ctrl while clicking links on stuff like saidit, it doesn't bother me.

Yeah, I've gotten used to clicking on my scroll wheel, but sometimes I forget, and it can get annoying, especially if I'm in my inbox and haven't checked all my messages yet.
