Saidit is all I have, the only decent platform I can talk on without catching bans for wrong think. You have every other website catering to your ideology, why fuck with this one?

look up those accounts in the image

No need, even if I'm wrong about the details, you admitted to vote manipulation. Obfuscation.

and his 4 or 5 accounts

    Which would be what exactly?

    because he's upset with me

Of course I'm upset with you. You're fucking my shit up, dumbass. I can't believe how thoughtless, cowardly, and weasely you managed to behave. And you think you're doing a good thing. You really disappointed me. I think you should just go back to Reddit and leave us alone if you think we're so goddamned horrible and you're somehow the good guy in all this.

You are blaming me for your problems

I'm blaming you for this: https://i.imgur.com/FvI3LpT.png. Your shit weasel tactics don't work here.

      AdmiralBradley, DrJoeBeaver

      Does not exist.

      Deleted, also obviously me.

      AmericanMuskrat

      Duh. Deleted.

      Dinosaurysus

Deleted, I only used this when AM was banned.

      SloppyJoeBeaver

      Name got vetoed.

Perhaps stop bullying me and the responses to your lies will end.

Pointing out your vote manipulation and shit weaseling is hardly bullying. You're not a victim, you're the perpetrator.

You're spending the best part of 2 days solely devoted to attacking me

Not soley, and this is important. How you ever going to stop being a shit weasel unless your bad behavior is pointed out to you.

I can however provide approximate timestamps in text form

You're trying to dodge the issue. I am not manipulating any votes. I am not tricking any people by coming on AmericanMuskrat and then SloppyJoeBeaver. I do not act as if they're separate people like you do with yours, talking about yourself in the third person . I am not upvoting anything twice. I am not going in any subs I have been banned from.

You ARE fucking with the votes. Do you understand how that's wrong yet?

THIS ENTIRE PROBLEM COULD BE SQUASHED IN TWO SECONDS, EXCEPT THAT THIS MORONS THAT OWN THIS SITE ACTUALLY WANT THIS SITE TO BE USED TO CREATE CHAOS.

TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM, WHEN SOMEONE SIGNS UP A NEW ACCOUNT... THEY WOULD ONLY BE ABLE TO POST IN INTRODUCTIONS SUB... UNTIL THEY ARE ALLOWED INTO THE SITE AS A FULL MEMBER.

BUT THEN, YOU WOULD NEED TO HAVE COMPETENT MANAGEMENT OVERSEEING THE SITE.

/u/usehername does not qualify as competent management.

          sorry, charlies.

          [–]magnora7 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

It is an interesting idea, but who approves people to go from the introductions sub to the rest of the site? If this approval process gets hijacked by shills then the site is over. That's the weak point of it. And also it would slow growth even more. But even with those downsides considered, it might be worth trying on a new website

          [–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

It is an interesting idea, but who approves people to go from the introductions sub to the rest of the site?

          Trusted-team and community.
AND importantly the trusted-team and community also watches others in the trusted-team for anyone failing to live up to their trust and the site's charter declaring the important values, ethics, goals, etc.

If this approval process gets hijacked by shills then the site is over.

Everything in the open. The shills can and will whine all day long, but without effective access they can't subvert it all.

That's the weak point of it.

Wrong. The weakness is in inaction, lack of communication, and lack of community input.

_And also it would slow growth even more.

          Pure speculation.
Doing something is better than nothing and policy shifts can be retracted if they fail.

But even with those downsides considered, it might be worth trying on a new website

          Why not try here?

This is good but not new.

We've discussed other ways to filter folks - including having two sites, one for everyone (including asstrolls) that users earn their way onto the second invite-only site for elevated discourse.

Not just paid shills. There are also activists that come in waves. After a subreddit moves to saidit, the activists that caused the ban of the sub are often following them, because these activists have no life and are insane.

As long as the admins don't start spending most of their time in private discord chats circle jerking about their hate for the saidit userbase, there's no need to worry. Unfortunately discord trannies seem very adept at befriending lonely admins and convincing them that sites are better with heavy handed manual curation.

Chat functions are just poison for any kind of site, or channel, or whatever.

They create a two-tier system, where the terminally online can gather and jerk it to their fantasies of being the creator's special friend. The site's regular users don't have time for this shit because they have lives. The terminally online don't, though. After a while anyone who's in the discord is the ingroup and everyone else is the outgroup, the enemy. It creates a system where the chat server users don't like anyone who's in their little tiny group, and since they have unlimited time, it's the most important thing in their empty lives.

There's more than one way to participate on SaidIt beyond just posting content. Reading, voting, commenting, supporting, and caring are a few.

Just stop stop inhaling that much glue and grow some balls.

These guys will loose interest. No control of impulses on their end whatsoever because they hack themselves in their echo-chambers with short feedback-loops 24/7.

A boxing match usually isn't won in one round, if i remember correctly.

          [–]Chipit 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

          These guys will loose interest.

It's literally their job to post here. Interest has nothing to do with it.

Why would anyone deliberately try to cast doubt that one of the leading Reddit clones has paid shills here to disrupt the site? Defending the interests of the powerful? Who does that, unless money has changed hands?

          [–]magnora7 5 insightful - 4 fun5 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

I think some people also don't want to believe it's true, because that would mean they've been reading shill opinions without realizing it and taking them as actual opinions. Fully realizing this is kind of a worldview shift if you've spent years reading forums. The denial is strong. It's like people who watch WWE wrestling don't want to hear how it's fake, even though deep down they probably know it is.

The entertainment value of forums is diminished if one fully realizes half the comments are equivalent to reading a paid commercial billboard, and that forums are no longer the organic thoughtful places they once were. Letting go of the ideal of the internet as a window of worldwide communication and instead seeing it as a massive propaganda network, is a large very un-fun thing to realize, and some people are trying to hit the snooze button on that realization because they're still getting some enjoyment out of it yet.

I think this natural psychological mechanism is working neatly alongside all the gaslighting shills and people who are paid to defend the interests of the powerful. It's like 50/50

So just how do you get a job as a paid shill? I have never seen a want ad for a "paid shill". How much do paid shills get paid?

          [–]hfxB0oyA 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

So what you seem to be saying here is that if we want to make sure our protected class of free speech warriors are kept safe, we need to gatekeep Saidit and shut down viewpoints that disagree with ours.

          [–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

shut down viewpoints that disagree with ours

That's the extremist anti-censorship straw-man always used when basic custodial site management is required.

The obvious bullshit response to that bullshit is, "So I guess you want child porn and advocating violence to run rampant here until this site is shut down?"

The real matter at hand is NOT about different viewpoints.
The real matter at hand is unfair BAD FAITH manipulators, deceivers, and liars.

          [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

What we seem to be discussing here is the requirement of boundaries. The limits to what are acceptable seem pretty clear in the site rules, and nobody in their right mind would expect unlawful behaviour to be permitted. But to consider advocating shutting down bad faith comments that do not breach the rules is authoritarian and in breach of freedom of speech. You sir have every right to lie to me and insult me, for example, as you would in the real world. But do so, and you lose the respect of your peers. What point is there in public witch hunts if bad faith manipulators bring themselves into disrepute?

          [–]hfxB0oyA 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Yeah, but who decides? At what point does the 'bad faith' label get turned into a cudgel? Remember when the term 'Nazi' referred only to people were actual neo nazis?

          [–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Start with the worst ones that are prolific and obvious. Force them to distribute themselves across many aliases that inherently have less karma, longevity, and trust.

          This isn't about name-calling Nazis.

          [–]EternalSunset[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

I am in favor of free speech if it is some real user just disagreeing with the common opinion. When it is an obvious astroturf campaign like this though, then I think the site admins should take a look at things and make sure there aren't people manipulating the votes.

          [–]hfxB0oyA 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They are just dickheads. They don't understand what fascism actually is, mostly. Trying to slide in- and out of your ass quite brutally showing most of their personal weaknesses in the process.

Because they don't know about methods actually getting anything heavier than a gnat to move itself.

If you let them move you, maybe you've become a gnat.

All users should be informed. The reason why should be substantiated with proof. There should be like a trial.

I've been saying this for yeaaaaaaaaaars.

magnora7 doesn't want it because there'd be drama. Yes obviously. But have all the drama contained in /s/TownSquare or whatever you want to call it. Let the coliseum maniacs leer and cheer as they see fit. They can try to influence and skew the results but only the trusted-team would have the ultimate arbitration - with EVERYTHING IN THE OPEN. Meanwhile let the other subs live in more peace and tranquility.

                Agreed.

There used to be more discipline from admins on this site, and generally any disputable problems and drama were from the lack of openness and clarity from magnora7. Things are now worse and less clear, again by his choices and lack of clarity, openness, and communication.

We have and we do witch-hunts for the community to call out bad actors - and we should be prepared for them, whether rightly or wrongly accused. It can all come out, and users who have earned the trust or distrust of others will weigh in, and no matter how many bots and sockpuppets try they won't be able to penetrate authentic views with all their individual pros and cons. We need open "witch-hunts" in the /s/TownSquare but they need to be FOTPACH (fair, open, transparent, peaceful, accountable, consistent, honest). Whether it's justifiably getting bad-faith socks finally banned - or the other day Muskrat, HongKongPhooey, and SmokeDaddy in the worst ways chased off an innocent new friend I'd finally brought to SaidIt chat.

First I've heard of /s/Houston. There are rules for folks who want to squat on their own sub. Power to them. There are many kinds of subs.

                [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm certain that calling for the Spanish inquisition is not going to have quite the virtuous effect as per your intent. Holding public trials is a bizarre response to disapproving of other users behaviour. It would have the effect of people self-censoring to avoid your wrath of public shaming.

Call the witch-hunts whatever you like, but some folks need to be publicly dealt with for lack of any other online tools or community power. Importantly, with open, transparent, logical, rational, and fair moderation of the "trial" people can not only learn better ways to analyze and react, but it also lets folks know what's going on, how they need to behave, and sets examples for more that inevitably sure to follow.

I don't give a fuck about trannies. Where did you get that stupid idea? From them? Musk, Usher, socks, weegs, Ed, and others can't be trusted. HKP and Smoke can, so far.

Fascism is the only correct way to run things, PRECISELY for these reasons. Imagine the Nazis had won WW2, would the soviets be subverting them? NOT A CHANCE. The USA? Done deal.

More top-down corruption is not what we need.

Power to the people from the bottom-up is the only fair solution - and obviously it has to anticipate that half of everyone is stupider than average and as a whole everyone is much less corrupt than the ruling class who will try to infiltrate and subvert all bottom-up efforts.

Fascism is a political philosophy that precludes top-down corruption, but it can only work well in homogeneous divisions. The bottom-up approach has the same problem: unless you have homogeneity, you have harm to a significant part of the population. So the bottom-up approach works if you have tiny (neighborhood sized) political divisions, whereas fascism codifies that which would have been voted from the bottom up into law and order. These are very close to the same thing.

                        Huey Long

Was in a political office of Georgia and ran for POTUS about 90 years ago or so. Seemed to be a shoo-in for the job, but got taken out by a "LONE GUNMAN". He was a perfect Fascist, the kind that makes nations great.

All that does is prevent you from seeing the shill's posts. It doesn't prevent the shill from disrupting conversations, which is their job.

Allowing free speech for all means having to suffer the unfortunate consequence of having your conversation disrupted. Figure out a way so that you can ignore them or do better than them instead of turning into a butthurt Reddit jannie.

Speech that destroys free speech is the paradox of tolerance. We must not tolerate that which has as its goal the elimination of tolerance.

The worst offenders have infinite IPs, unique with every page request, that are not bound to any range or subnet. So IP bans are happening to them, even to entire ranges of IPs, but it accomplishes basically nothing, because they just make another completely different one.

It's so funny and kind of pathetic that you think, that it is crucial to the operation and running of the world's most powerful nations, for someone to sit on this 25-member Q-adjacent reddit clone debunking y'all's right wing grifter conspiracies. Leaning more towards pathetic than funny actually

Actually, it is. One of the lessons learned from the Trump tragedy of 2016 is that they have to crush dissident voices early, before they can get a chance to start. Social media giants had all of the records, so all they had to do was press "rewind". Then they got to see what had happened. It started small, and grew as things got popular and people invited their friends.

Best to crush it early, when it's small. And send people to throw doubt on the entire idea in the first place. Conspiracy? Yeah, like the conspiracy between the Democrats and the media to elect Hillary...oh wait that really happened. Like the conspiracy by the CDC to lie to us for Democrat political gain...oh wait that really happened.

                              [–]Site_rly_sux 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (20 children)

Ok let's explore that thought a bit further if you don't mind.

                              1. Let's say you work at a social media company. What exactly are you doing that could be described as "press rewind". Is someone at saidit comparing the (incredibly high) quality of conversation here, against the (equally highbrow) quality of 2016 discourse that was taking place at other companies?

                              2. Do you think, for every single grouping of 25 member Q-adjacent Reddit clones,.someone is doing that analysis? And there're spies/fake conversationalists in each of them?

                              3. What are we doing over here that's so dangerous to the establishment? Talking about vaccine denialism isn't helping prevent covid jabs which all happened in 2021. Seriously what is this thing happening over here which is causing such alarm bells within the establishment? And what is the establishment doing here to silence those alarms? By engaging people in text conversation?

                              4. Why was trump so damaging to the democrat conspiracy, again? Is it because he showed everyone it was ok to be racist, then tried to sell nukes to Saudis? Was that the thing which the democrats had to scramble all bombers against?

                              5. If the conspiracy was in order to elect hilary then why was she suddenly unimportant in 2020 election? Why wasn't Joe Biden the 2016 conspiracy candidate?

                              6. Dare I even ask why you think the CDC lied for partisan gain? Wouldn't that be an instant sacking for the CDC spokesperson involved if you could prove it?

Dude to be honest it sounds like you have such high opinion of your own importance to the establishment...like the saucy daily mail stories, Syrian regime propaganda, and people pretending to understand science over here, are such a massive threat to the establishment. It IS cringe. And it's more cringe when you double down

I think it's possible that some professor who is so inculcated in thier echo chamber that they developed the genuine belief that thier ideology is grounded in reality has ventured outside that echo chamber in the belief that they could defend those beliefs in the open.

That sort of thing is exceedingly rare, but possible. I think we should give them the benefit of the doubt. As long as they are making some kind of argument they should be treated as genuine.

This is a good thing. It keeps this place from becoming an echo chamber itself. I think everyone should post content they don't agree with, but is the best argument they can find. Then rip it to shreds.
