It just suddenly jumped from 2,202 to 2,281. I have not had any submissions blow up recently. Even on the other tabs I had open it still says 2,202. This has happened to me once or twice before too. My first thought was it's a caching issue, but I don't think saidit/reddit does that, and the addition or subtraction of karma usually takes effect immediately when a vote is cast.
