Simple idea for spam

Blocking spammers seems to be the most effective way to clean up my feed, and it's kind of a pain to report them all first, especially with the timer ticking before my humanity is questioned again and the blocks stop registering until I do, which one does not notice necessarily, so...

How's about blocking people generates a report too?

Or if reporting spam granted an automatic block that would work too.

Sorry Musky, but that's not a good idea. What happens if I make multiple alt/bot accounts and block every person on this site? That creates report-spam and ties up the admins time cleaning it up.

Reports - even spam - are used for different reasons by individual users. As an example, I've reported users for spam in this sub but they aren't spamming the site generally. I don't want to block the users I reported. I just don't want them posting off-topic stuff in this sub. If my report blocks them, I won't ever see their genuine content elsewhere.

If you want to block a user, you can report and /or block from the same page. Look, I have the options right here on your post.

That's the same thing I do, report and block. About half the spammers constantly make new accounts so blocking them doesn't help... but about half don't. So it does make a difference. I agree that it'd be nice if the process of doing those two things was a little more streamlined.

Ignoring things doesn't make them go away.
