Saidit suggestions/fixes?
submitted 3 years ago by idkwhatimseeking from self.SaidIt
I'm not sure if this is the right place or not.. but I got a couple suggestions and/or opinions.
Being automatically subscribed to every single sub is a bit silly. Saidit is only going to grow from here, and having all those subs already subscribed to, is going to be a pain in the ass. It was also a bit obscure on what to do about it, meaning unsubscribing to all subs in preferences. This information should be a little bit more upfront.. I had to read a lot just to see that information. Also, I would have never found preferences on the app.. I had to do it through the website.
It took me a long time to figure out the insightful and fun "slide" thing on the app. In fact, I stumbled upon it by accident. I read about it, and actually saw it on the website.. but I originally thought that feature was not available on the app. Possibly make this information a little bit more upfront too? Also.. can you undo the insightful/fun slide that was given? If you're anything like me an accidentally given someone an insightful/fun point lol
That's all I have for now.. is there a stickied suggestion thread somewhere?

Being automatically subscribed to every single sub.
I do kind of agree with this one, from the perspective of being a sub owner - I would like to know how many people have chosen to follow the sub. With numbers in the thousands, I am fairly certain not all of then opted to follow (and the engagement / submissions would suggest the actual active subscribers is vastly smaller).

That is honestly a really friggin good point that I didn't even consider.
Your thoughts on this /u/magnora7 ?

Now that saidit has gotten to a certain size, we are going to change the subscription model to match more what reddit has. So people will be subscribed to a default list as a new user (instead of all subs) and then this will make the subscription numbers more meaningful as you and the person before you pointed out.

Edit: How do I crosspost this post into /s/ideasforsaidit ?

We don't have crossposting, Reddit didn't open source it. It's on the list.

New idea
I created a makeshift crosspost to /s/ideasforsaidit.
I will be updating and adding onto that post from here on out.

Make it easier to upload images or at least make the images of imgur previewable.
currently it is shit users have to leave the site to view an imgage then get back and response to it there is a big disconnect in the user experience
