Whether you watched this whole re-view or not, I'm curious to hear what you thought about the Tron franchise and/or dealing with grand abstract sci-fi concepts and visuals. (For example, The failed epic vista setbacks of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) were ignored by Tron (1982), or as I suspect, were far too far into production to turn back. Bladerunner also "failed" that year, though was later revived.)
I really liked the hyper-stylized animated TV series, that they barely touch on.
I used to read all the novelizations of movies back in the 80s and might even still have my original Tron novel. Back then VCRs were around, but renting wasn't cheap and having a vast library of movies wasn't even a thing until the 90s, when the prices of VHS and eventually DVDs came down.
