Oddly, the part that got me the most in the CTV article was that they are using zoom for official government business. Don't worry, I'm sure China is respectful of their privacy ..

That's what happens when you let senior citizens run the show.

Ugh, thats stupid. We already have way too many people in this world, and its not like 100% of the population is going to suddenly become homosexual.

      I agree with

not like 100% of the population is going to suddenly become homosexual

cause less than 2 percent of world population is documented to be homosexual. I'm more concerned with transgenderism anyway. It's a big issue and for some reason so many young transgender people are "made to realise they are trans by nice internet person". I don't know how they do it but that shit works likely for the same reason that astrology seems to work.

Anyway, Mr. Mayor's reason might be stupid but the fact that he was attacked is really bad.

It works because kids not only don't have a fully developed brain but also don't have a fully developed body. It's harder to identify as a girl when you dont have breasts and never see anyone elses genitals. All you have to go by is how people act, so if you are a tomboy how could you not "identify as a boy".

That is why they are desperate to pump the kids with hormone blockers and prevent them from going through puberty. About 90% of kids with gender dysphoria are cured by puberty. These people are literally withholding the cure from 90% of kids, and that is the statistic from before they were brainwashing non gender dysphoric kids.

This is a much better method for population control than abortion. And it hits more of the white woke population.

I'm absolutely against abortion, but I'm totally on board with sterilization in exchange for 4/8/12 years of paid for mid/upper level education (HS/college). Specifically in lower income urban settings, this would be the best method of reduction.

Hormone and puberty reducing blockers also seem to be a great way to reduce certain groups from long term reproduction as well. It's difficult because we unfortunately won't see the effects until one or two generations down the road.

It's not arguable that teachers who notice certain children identifying as anything other than their birth sex have a duty inform and mandate hormone blockers, especially in more affluent urban/suburban settings.

I identify as a Flying Spaghetti Monster. Anyone who refuses to worship me is a trans-hater.

We already have way too many people in this world

Almost all countries are falling in population and are entering a period of devastating demographic collapse, e.g. Japan.

So what? Fuck the economies, we will go into total collapse when we run out of natural resources.

The news is clearly pulling quotes out to try and smear him as a bigot, as usual. But there is no reason why the government should be flying the flag of a special interest group. That is a sign of corruption. Equal treatment and special treatment are not the same, they are opposites.

Well, few things... *LGBT will never be everyone, they are a small minority of the population and likely to remain that way, even in animal kingdom homosexual behaviour is rare, and transient. *His support would not boost the LGBT population, it's just a gesture of kindness *He is free to not attend events or support groups which he does not feel supportive of. Compelling him would be dogmatic. Neither should he face any consequence for respectfully voicing his views as long as he does not disrupt the duties he must do by law towards LGBT citizens, if any. *This might be unpopular but I'd personally want more LGBT individuals not egaging in reproductive sex in high fertility populations in certain parts of the world where overpopulation and coupled with poverty is putting unnecessary collective burden upon all of humanity *Bi individuals can be in reproductive relationships

LGBT will never be everyone, they are a small minority of the population

A small minority with too much power

      [–]Wahwah 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Does not have to be. LGBT in the context of 'power' comes from the ideology, often weaponsied by the left within and outside the community. I reject the dogmatism and ideological hijacking of the movement, which otherwise in reality should be quite a pragmatic movement.

if you really dig into demographics and birth rates, lgbt population is not the reason for low birth rate, ever. it's really the cost to raise the offspring and give the offspring a good life that curb the birth rate for the middle class for the last couple of decades, and this trend is growing across the world. take china, who just opened their second-child policy. in the first year, they had a little over a million new babies due to this policy, iirc, but not more than 2 million. because the cost of sending a kid to a good college is too high in the targeted middle-class population. the pride flag is always something more political, if you are willing to look and think. but really, take the example of alan turing, who's gay, invented the first computer and named it after his crush (boy) in high school and managed to save 2 million people (see wiki). one must be careful to say lgbt is the true cause of a decreasing population.

      [–]Canbot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

This couldn't be further from the truth. The wealthier a nation gets the more the birthrate drops. It is literally the opposite of what you claim. There are no studies, as far as I know, that measure the effects of homosexuality on birthrates. It would be a silly study given how small that community is. The question is would those gay people go on to live a hetero lifestyle and produce kids, and if they do are they displacing hetero people who go on to die childless. Logically homosexuality should lower birthrates, but the data is just not there.

One could not make that claim if one is concerned with facts. That is some illogical, untrue, propagandist nonsense.

It could be true that wealth is entirely concentrated in the 1%, but it IS not true. There is more "inequality" simply because there is a bigger gap from 100k to 1million than from 10k to 100k. But the first group is better off, and the "poor" in that group are richer than the poor in the second.

And the fact is richer demographics have fewer kids.

        [–]blowininthewind 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

the wealthier a nation gets the more birthrate drops. i do agree with that. look at western europe and japan and their r values (especially japan, it's like 1.1 or something, one needs that to be approx. 2 to sustain a population). china's talking about whether it'd become the second japan demographically (or in other ways). and i don't think hetero people are ever going to be replaced by homosexual people and die childless. if that is the case then one gotta ask why those gay people go against their will to marry people opposite of their gender. and also heterosexual dudes should man up and show those girls that you are going to love them like gay man never could and provide them a good life to raise great man for the next generation. people can tell if you really do love them and really do want to have sex with them. they're gonna choose you if you really want them bad enough.
