Our ego isn't the enemy. It's merely an instrument that we've forgotten how to use without getting hurt. It only exists in our minds, and in very real ways, the ego is just a thought. A very persistent one, yes, but it only has as much power as we give to a thought and a series of thoughts. It works solely with concepts and mental constructs, that's how it understands the world. It's unable to come up with anything original or new, it just applies concepts that it has learned in ways that makes sense to it.
Now, the spirit is of substance that is eternal and it has infinite power behind it. It doesn't feel like this most of the time because the spirit refuses to force its way into control like the ego does. The spirit is infinitely gentle, infinitely loving, and is unable to feel disappointment or other negative emotions about us. We project our egos perception of the world to our soul and to God, and that's yet another mental construct that the ego has created.
When we live within our authentic spirit, we are awake. We are real. We are living in the divine light and everything we do is pure perfection. In order to be in this place, one just needs to accept themselves as they are. One doesn't need to fix themselves. One doesn't need to meditate for hours a day. One just needs to fully accept who they are, including their divinity, less than "ideal" traits, and look within.
There is endless beauty in all of us. Period. That's why we are here to begin with, our beauty together makes even more beautiful puzzle when all the pieces come together. It's colorful and vivid. All we have to do, is just accept, remember, and stop fighting our real self.
