On a remote peninsular in the Arctic circle, enormous wounds are appearing in the permafrost and have started to worry scientists. Research teams from Russia and the United States are racing to find out what this means for Siberia, and potentially the rest of the world.

In a Russian documentary (RT-documentary, now censored),
the scientists stated that it came from gas being released due to seismic movements.
They first thought that it was climate change, but that was wrong.
The gas comes from much deeper levels, where climate does not really matter.
