Cis, gay white men are absolutely awful (irl and offline) for perpetuating misogyny, transphobia, and racism.

For decades it's been known that gay men were one of the least racist demographics in the US with scientific studies backing this up.

Also noticed that they disabled down voting but that can easily be disabled by turning off subreddit themes. Saiddit having no downvote option is also a bit shit.

Possible, but unlikely: The cheat codes know the one group that's more of a 'this group can do no wrong' than trans people is the black community, and black people have the numbers/people are aware police brutality is fucked up to make it clear the TRA's just can't win. (This is why whenever they try, they merely cut in for "no, black trans lives matter".)

When GC was still on reddit we had an ex-AHSer come on and explain why she did it. Basically all these dumb kids act as flying monkeys for the likes of bardfinn. I've been pondering this myself, and it wasn't until I read another comment in this thread that a possibility occurred to me to explain it. Effectively, he doesn't do or say anything directly that could see him facing trouble, but instead sets things up in a "will no one rid me of this turbulent priest" sort of situation that his flying monkeys then move to take care of.

Yeah I guess that's it. I've said it before too; without the gay rights movement they have nothing. But they are certainly not us either. I'm not against them at all; do what you want, but it is very much a social trend and they have little to do with gay stuff.

Thing is, though... and feel free to speak out if you feel this is not the case, but there does seem to be some over lap. Butch, gay women deciding that they are FTM. Effeminate gay men deciding that they are MTF. Leslie Feinberg kind of started all this, and she varied in her self-identity. Sometimes she was FTM and "zie", other times she was a woman and gay. It just... does seem to me as though there is some overlap here.

I do generally feel that if these people were not given the option to identify as such, they would still just be living as women or as men, minus the surgery and hormones and crud.

Maybe, but a lot of these folks are within really gay-positive, affirming cities or contexts. Homosexuality isn't just tolerated, it's celebrated. Or are therapists just convincing gay people that they're actually trans? How is this working?

I suppose some gay people think that transitioning would increase their chances of getting a boyfriend. I encountered a homosexual transsexual on Reddit who bragged about how much better straight men are than gay men. I told him that straight men don’t want to date transwomen at all, and that all he has left are bisexual men and closeted gay men. He did not respond.

There are also some gay men who are so feminine, they think they might as well be women. To be fair to them, a lot of gay men do not want to date feminine men - most of us are attracted to masculinity. Myself included. But a lot of other gay men are interested in feminine men, and some of these men actually prefer or only want feminine men. But even then, most gay men have a limit on how feminine their boyfriends can be.

As a heterosexual male, I've never understood why HSTS believed they actually were getting with "straight" men. It's clear as day, that they're getting with bisexual men or closeted gay guys into feminine males. I guess it's a coping mechanism? Sad that they have to lie to themselves like that.

Some HSTSs think they’re so convincing. To be fair, it’s easy to do that on camera with the right angles, the right editing software, and the right makeup. But they do not stand a chance with heterosexual men. If a trans “woman” has a boyfriend who calls himself “straight”, chances are he’s bisexual but hasn’t come out because he doesn’t want to get told to “pick a side”. Not to mention that a lot of HSTSs won’t date bisexual men. Or perhaps the man in question finds boobs a must, doesn’t care if they come with a dick, and just don’t want to date men without boobs.

That could play a role, I'm just wondering.... If you're a gay man in an environment where gay male culture and homosexuality in general is not just accepted but is borderline venerated and is publicly celebrated... where are guys getting this idea that because they're effeminate, they're women? Don't they have enough examples of gay personality or presentations around them to understand that being a more feminine gay man is an option? I mean.... I don't remember this being a thing 20 years ago.

Are therapists targeting these people and just telling them that they're trans? Your point about some feminine gay men being so feminine that they're not comfortable being men is important, and I do think some FTM women fall into this category, but still... I don't remember feminine gay men trying to turn their penis inside out a generation ago, so something clearly changed.

It has to be. If no one knew that "being trans" was an option, how much of this would we actually be seeing? Which really leads me to think this whole thing is a social construct. It's word salad that begins to "feel real" to people because the brain, body, and emotions are deeply connected. The fact that people de-transition, though, shows that this is not an innately physical issue, but a psychological one.

Before the trans movement trans people had discomfort with their actual biology. It wasn't based on sexist stereotypes. It follows that there was no such thing as xenogenders and the "non binary" rate was far lower. The condition itself was actually rare, and mostly unheard of, and it worked best that way. Most certainly bringing "awareness" in a horribly foolish manner is responsible for all the hating on them in recent years.

Historically most trans people were homosexual with internalised homophobia. But that was when transexual and transvestite were understood to be two very different things. We all knew that transvestites were straight men who got turned on by wearing women's clothes and nobody celebrated that. It was creating the transgender identity that incapsulated both of those groups that has led to all the crazy shit that's happening. Because, for one, there are more transvestites than transexuals. And, while for the most part transexuals just want to be allowed to live their lives, transvestites are fetishists for the vast majority of humans, when we indulge fetishes, they aren't sated, they grow. And society isn't currently just validating this fetish, it's celebrating the people who indulge in it, for indulging and it's creating a monster.

Yeah the gender term is genius. Suddenly you get confusion around both. Eddie Izzard, transgender? Nah he's a transvestite, though he claims otherwise now. I guess transvestites are often the ones referred to as AGP, right?

I've noticed the weird tendency to create a persona that then takes over more and more. Referring to it with a name; "and then I become Jessica" etc. We should get back to the old ways. Gender is too vague to be meaningful. You rarely hear of the female equivalent, I reckon it's because women do this for other reasons(anecdotal, but my token ftm trans friend seems to want to escape the 'toxic' male gaze and being perceived as female, but not much mention of male interests, nor sex. Also reads yaoi.). Despite my skepticism I'm sympathetic, as it probably sucks, and I'm cough morbidly curious to see the trajectory.

Hmmm. I've only really followed the drama of certain subs being closed etc. But that's bad news. It's really neutering the site. Some subs keep joking that they're next and it really fucks the vibe. Also gives a feeling of being edgy of course, but the subs I'm in aren't even extreme. Common sense and skepticism are what's being edited out. It's weird hanging with the cool/edgy kids without anything extreme to show for it, just a mindset that was normal ten years ago.

So now we know, with proof, that the glowies are balls deep in twitter, reddit, Facebook, etc. Is it a stretch to imagine AHS(and their brigading) to be a form of covert govt censorship?

I just... Why go after gay subs and lesbians? Why is it so important for them to trans/queer everything? Is it just to remove coherent spaces of likeminded people? TQ+ makes for barren soil where once there was camaraderie.
