I tried to wade through this, but the blatant and smugly self-righteous leftism was just too much.

As close as I can tell from what I did get through, it's basically a whole lot of "Western civilization is bad, capitalism is bad, men are bad, fossil fuels are bad, all of them together are double plus ungood, and the only solution is making sure that people with the correct way of thinking ever hold any power, so always vote blue like a good tool and trust that you'll get a few crumbs off of their plates in return."

tl;dr fuel is evil because apparently only straight white men enjoying driving cars. cheap fuel, an interstate highway system and fuel-efficient cars have never once benefited women or people of color in history. also getting fuel out of the earth is like rape and it's like trump somehow too but the author doesn't make any real attempt to explain why.

Some time ago I took part in a Twitter thread about cars/emissions etc. I've said that often SUVs are unnecessary. That estate cars do the job as well. Had like 500 likes. Then someone finally asked what I'm driving. Strangely 6.3 V8 AMG Benz estate was not a popular answer...
