Saw it coming from a mile away but still really didn’t need this today. Dealing with suicidal thoughts for the first time in like five years over unrelated work and personal stuff. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know.

On Reddit there a 500 million idiots, but that still means there are 500 people to talk to. In the real world, there are approximately zero people to talk to.

I like saidit in principle, but the meta data on comments needs to be different and the other problem is that I have no idea which users are real and which are bots from a Russian troll farm. I think everyone can agree more propaganda is posted here.

An echo chamber is terrible, but an echo chamber with only bots is dystopian.

What should I discuss in a bar? The only thing I want to discuss in a bar is asking a woman whether she wants to leave this hell and go out with me. A bar is just a place to go when you are single and in a way failed in life.

I can't talk about things of interest to me, because nobody understands those things (because they require an IQ in excess of 140). If I talk about things I have done, other people can only nod (there is no two way communication).

I always talked to people three or four decades older than me, because children were stupid. As an adult, there is nobody left to talk to other than me annoying them about how I hate everyone.

I know this is not healthy, but I don't know how to escape it.

Alcohol is unhealthy and if the people in there were happy, they wouldn't be in a bar. The music is typically terrible too, because you need ear plugs just to avoid ear damage.

I feel like a paria when going alone to a bar. I am apparently the kind of person where people ask whether they can "use that chair", not someone that they ask to join their party or whatever.

I simultaneously crave human contact and at the same time I don't like or almost always hate every human I have ever talked to in my life for longer than an hour. That used to be different, but I am now quicker at finding flaws in people. People are not perfect and that's exactly the problem.

I am sure someone is going to make a terrible comment by me saying this.

I don't want to discuss sports. I don't want to discuss anything anymore, because there is no point to discussion.

The logical conclusion is that I should kill myself, because there is nothing to gain for me left in life. People do not want me and all people are assholes.

The issue is not having many peers who understand you, not that there aren't people you can talk to. Of the small pool of people who are your intellectual equal, it's not a guarantee they have the same interests. Or the same life experience, or that you will get along with them. It's lonely and isolating, even when you're surrounded by friends.

I feel your pain, u/binaryblob. Although drinking did make me a lot happier. You say it's unhealthy, but that's a moot point if you want to kill yourself. No reason to leave behind a healthy corpse. Kill those pesky brain cells instead.

My life experience in particular seems to be rather depressingly unique.

People that I trusted always said I should find "like-minded" people and that they are "out there". Turns out that they don't exist.

I do really believe I have no peers; people appearing to be interesting even become boring really fast.

It's annoying when other people are surprised by certain events and I am like "Yes, I had expected this would happen".

I don't even believe in the concept of friends anymore; it's all just so incredibly fake and all it takes is life to take one bad turn to see their true nature.

I think drinking makes me happier, because it increases the diameter of the capillaries. I think I am in an almost eternal state of hypoxia in those capillaries which puts my body in an "on"-state, which generates chronic stress, which leads to disease. I don't know whether anyone has come up with that, but it certainly would explain why so many people take drugs.

It looks like I also crave foods that widen my blood vessels.

I guess propaganda is in the eye of the beholder. To me Reddit is nothing but propaganda and Saidit is where the truth is allowed to come out. For example on the Reddit news sub there is absolutely zero posts about Pfizer creating Covid mutations using lab monkeys. Since this is a crime against humanity the only reason Reddit doesn't publish it has to be that they are a propaganda mouthpiece for Big Pharma.

I gave up my Reddit account years ago. I used to lurk on subreddits like r/tumblrinaction quite a bit. Then they banned r/star_trek, ostensibly because the moderators weren't following 'the rules' but in reality because it dared to challenge The Narrative, and occassionally poked fun at genderspecials. There's literally nowhere interesting to go on Reddit anymore.

My friend and I were just talking about how even all the subreddits for Canadian cities are dominated by Wokethink. You're not allowed to complain about the rise in crime or aggressive behaviour, or insane junkies, without getting called 'gross'. It's OK to wish death on property owners though.

Shit, I don't recall which sub or subs it was, but that actually did happen around the time that the original TiA was shitcanned. And all of the replacement mods were cherry picked from the shortlist of power mods, someone did some digging and turned up proof of it (which, naturally, got nuked with the quickness after it was posted).

If you look at the mod lists on the most popular subs you'll start to notice that a couple dozen mods basically control everything on the front page. When stuff behind that starts getting popular they find ways to control that too I reckon. Or shut it down if they can't.
