If you don’t give us what we want we will hurt ourselves until you do…

Just the sort of thing you expect mentally healthy people who don’t use coercive control and emotional blackmail to get what they want to say!

Youngkin's policies forbid transgender students from using the bathroom that corresponds with their gender, require schools to out transgender students to their parents, and demand that schools defer to parents on students’ names, nicknames, and “pronouns, if any” as well as any other “social transition” they may display at school.

I honestly can't see a problem with that. If they really, really, really are trans and want to transition then sooner or later the parents have to know about it. God forbid mom and dad have objections, concerns or are confused enough to no be 110% supportive of Ashkin McDoley who uses xir/yem pronouns.

The way I understand this is that trans students are just not allowed in the wrong bathroom and that on official student records it is noted down. It's not anti-trans, it's pro-healthy-parent-child-relationship. Where's the problem? If you don't want to get outed just don't go pissing when others are looking. But that would take the euphoria away, no? Honestly, sounds like the only issue is that they now have to can get their parents on board with the whole gig, which isn't that hard if you do it in a rational and calm manner. Oh. Wait...

Sometimes I feel like the trans/TERF debate is really just immaturity vs. maturity. There's a bunch of people, some kids, some adults, all in denial, trying to live through magical thinking, trying to do obviously impossible and hopelessly selfish things, and they're at war with a reality that keeps reminding them it's impossible. On the other end is just all the people who have grown up and accepted reality, and we're having to hold our tongues because the immature crowd keeps getting bigger.

Feel like it's a sign that parenting everywhere has gotten worse when childish tantrums are being used by, and working on, grown adults.

Y'all know if they hold their breath they can't actually pass out, right?

This is a real problem. I have a friend with twin boys who are 6 yet they are still having tantrums like toddlers. When they act out instead of getting punished they get a cuddle and a present because she doesn't want them to feel bad.

I once read a comic explaining that this is the "lapdog phase" of humanity. What happened to strong and fierce wolves, once they stopped having to hunt and fight to survive, and were catered to all the time like toddlers? They turned into weak yapping hysterical chihuahuas. Well, I feel this is true, humanity is in the lapdog phase.
