Every current issue is just an excuse to tear down civil society because failures dream they could be king of the cavemen.

If your reaction to anything is “the world must burn!”, you’re the bad guy, no exception, you’re the bad guy.

The trouble with the people who are currently calling for a ceasefire is they aren’t doing so in good faith.

Anyway, I think this time Israel is going to wipe Hamas from the face of the earth. I expect we will be seeing news of people falling off skyscrapers in Qatar and Dubai soon too.

It's been fifteen years since they saw Dark Knight and decided they wanna be The Joker and make the world burn, and after fifteen years making it clear their reaction is "the world must burn!" for any reason right down to "they got my order wrong at Starbucks", they're too far gone because they truly believe they're the heroes for wanting the world to burn.

They never have a fleshed out idea of what will take the place of the current system. They just assume if they kill the people they don't like, nothing but utopia will be left. Palestinians also missed the boat on to Europe. Unlike the climate when Europe opened its doors to Syrians, no one (not even other Arab countries - shocker) wants them.

Black September. The Jordanians gave them a chance and they, the PLO, tried to seize control of Jordan, which makes Queen Rania’s little tirade about the Palestinians a bit rich.

They fucked over Lebanon as well.

They assume utopia will be left because they can just keep killing anyone they don't like until all that's left is them and people who outright simp for them.

Yes, they assume that they will be the ones in charge…but just like after every single revolution, the actual revolutionaries get liquidated tout suite lest they get any ideas about deposing the newly installed Dear Leader. The Dear Leader also needs to consolidate their power base, and the number of key individuals needs to be as small as possible.

So if you’re going to do a revolution you best be the leader or be utterly indispensable and somehow I don’t think baristas and streamers have the necessary skills or power base to make it as an indispensable member of the leader’s entourage. Ironically, police, army, bankers and union bosses are they kinds that become indispensable (as long as they remain in control of their orgs), baristas, YouTubers, twitch streamers, OF girls and TikTokers not so much.

Well, there's your problem- there is no doubt in these people's minds they will be Dear Leader when it all ends, so they don't have to worry about the revolutionaries being liquidated (in their mind, they will be the ones liquidating). Even though they're baristas/streamers, they truly believe they're so charismatic and perfect that they'll be the one risen up on a pedestal to become the leader.

I've had some fun conversations with hippie type anarchists.

"Man like it will be great once the system of capitalistic oppression collapses and I can like work on my art and not have to go to my nine to five"

"Nah mate like when the system of capitalistic oppression collapses I've gotta plan to replace it with my own system of chatel slavery oppression and I've got you slated for work in cotton field #7."

"Nah man like you can't make me do that because like we are gonna get rid of all the guns and instruments of violence and shit"

"Cool, here's your magic genie to grant that wish, poof, all the guns are gone, oh well, guess I gotta make a sword instead and practice my archery".

I mean it's like totally alien to them the idea that, if I decide to be evil, I can use evil methods to force them to do what I want. And so can anyone else.

Like who do you think survives a fucking war except for the most ruthless of sociopaths?

I mean I think personally you'll get farther in life by being social and working with people but even that you can spin to be purely pragmatic, like it's better to be a warlord with a possy of loyal goons rather than a lone gun sociopath trying to mad max that shit alone. Chrome be with you!

Exactly. Heck, it's just part of any possible movement and goes to human nature: If everyone else decides to be good, the person who decides to be evil is suddenly at an advantage because they get to do whatever they want. It's doubled because the people who decide to do good fully realize that to take out this evil person would be to do evil, and thus they have to sit back and let it happen because, well, they can't be evil and be just like that person.

Yeah, I'm not buying this separate of Hamas and Palestinians. The only rhetoric I've ever seen out of Palestinians is exterminate Israel. Good luck with that.

Agreed. I have yet to see a single palestinian condemn Hamas.

It's been really fascinating for me to watch how many people supported these ideas only to find the leopards eating their faces.

Case in point my own company's Jewish DEI Chief, who was all about men in women's sports and land acknowledgements. Now the settler-colonial and 'oppressed. minority' talk is being weaponized against him, and he's suddenly butthurt and crying on Twitter that he'll never vote for Trudeau again.

If a person claims to be leftist and promotes the destruction of the world because "the other side" is committing war crimes then they have no moral grounds to stand on and are just doing it as a team sport. The thing is these people own HR departments but have no power to do anything.

I just watched "White House Down" on Netflix and it was basically the opposite of this and felt a bit too real. Basically in a fictional world the president decided to remove all troops from the middle east and sign peace treaties. Neocons flip out and try to burn down the world. Those people could actually be close enough to power to cause serious damage.

I like Whitehouse Down, but Olympus has Fallen (and the whole …has Fallen series) is superior.

Sorry, that wasn’t the point.

Wasn't that one like the exact opposite premise with promoting neocon stuff? If you mean the special effects, yeah white house down had some serious cheese going on.

Memo to the person in OP: If you truly think this way, please, for the good of Hamas, kill yourself so that it's one person easier for Hamas to have their goal. Because they want you and everyone you care about dead too.
