Chandler's father was a homosexual transwoman. The show honestly described the discomfort and pain of young Chandler, who was justifiably deeply upset with his father fling with the family's male servant. (Chandler hated Thanksgiving because of those memories). He was also very uncomfortable with his father's transgenderism. He later kind of reconciles with him.If such an episode was even allowed to be aired today,Chandler would be painted as a horrible biggot and then forced to apologise on his knees to that failure of a father.

Edit. The show also honestly depicted Ross suffering when his wife left him for a woman and all the complications they both had to navigate by sharing custody of their son. I am a homosexual woman and I appreciate this, because I understand that the world is not centered around me and that other people have needs and dreams too.

Don't forget all of this happened in 1995, when simply showing a realistic lesbian relationship was progressive- and in that period, the simple fact they even said trans people existed itself would be as extremist-woke in 2023 as having the President and the Super Bowl MVP suck non-presenting girldick on the 50 yard line.

A sane, adult statement. Not at all uncommon to see with the LGBs, but exceedingly rare with the TQ+'es. It's almost as if two very different groups of people all got lumped under one ill fitting acronym.

Yes let's not forget all of the homophobic content such as that time Chandler and Joey accidentally cuddled while taking a nap and felt embarrassed by the implication of being gay but by the end of the episode they decided they didn't care about being judged and went to go cuddle again because they enjoyed it. When i saw that episode as a child surely the lesson i learned was "homo/trans phobia"

They think it's progress that you can say less shit on TV than you used to.

JFC these TRAs love any excuse to put the spotlight on themselves. And they wonder why everybody hates them. They tried with the Israel-Palestine conflict as well. Like, don't you know Muslims hate you most?

The world will not get any better until it's legal for me to beat the ever loving shit of whoever this fatass Higgins fucker is. The wild west had its charms.

Well, so much for the Friends 20-year reunion special...

And of course some worthless slime is going to come oozing out into the spotlight to make sure that the whole world knows that so-called "marginalized" group nobody-fucking-cares is most affected by this issue.

How pathetic that every opinion they have must first go through the ringer and see what the in-group thinks about person in proximity to opinion before they decide what opinion to have.

Being gay is a genetic mutation. Since mutations rarely benefit humanity and are more likely to produce freaks, the freaks usually get winnowed out. However, some dysgenic genes remain so we get gays, pedophiles, on and on.

I don't think it's correct to say mutations rarely help humanity. There'd be no evolution if not for mutations. They can be good or bad.

Being white is also a genetic mutation

If they want to reinforce why they deserve every negative stereotype that people have of them, far be it for me to tell them to stop.

Friends aged just fine. Gay people from around that time were complete assholes, so any ridicule they might have received was entirely deserved.
