Why do they keep wishing us a happy International Women's Day, when the day is ostensibly about raising awareness of unhappy things?

No one says "happy International Holocaust Remembrance Day".

The only people who would be happy about the Holocaust these days are the ones who insist that it didn't happen, that it wasn't as bad as claimed if did happen, and that Hitler obviously didn't a good enough job if there was anyone left to complain about it afterward.

The women got flowers because traditionally flowers are seen as a very feminine thing women enjoy.

Men generally don't give a shit about flowers unless they're AGPs like this guy who just want the attention and validation the flowers represent.
