The Great and Glorious Code of the Empire of TumblrInAction

GENERAL RULES

TiA is a place to poke fun at the ridiculous mental gymnastics that people come up with. We're not a hate campaign, we're a sanity campaign.

A) Do not interact with the subject(s) of any post.

Sending messages of any sort to the people featured is strictly forbidden. This also includes their family, friends, employer, etc. Encouraging others to report posts on other sites is also not allowed. Breaking this rule will net you a permanent ban, so don't do it.

B) Do not post things you got involved in.

If you engage with the subject at all, do not post or link to it here. If you are doing your own thing and someone appears and starts acting ridiculous, you can share that, but once you've posted that to TiA, do not carry on the conversation.

C) Don't bait the bloggers.

Don't post content which derives from bait. Posts featuring an SJW attacking when you're chatting about something mundane is fine, but dumping "feminism sucks" on their page or trolling anonymous "asks" and posting their response is not.

In short: if they're on TiA, do not contact them.

RULE 2: PERSONALLY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION IS NOT ALLOWED, PERIOD

This is a sitewide rule. Submissions must not contain information which allows people to identify and/or contact those featured. This includes full names, locations, email addresses, phone numbers, etc. Verified accounts (with blue checkmarks) are considered as public figures, so they don't need names censored.

  • Social Media submissions (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) must be screenshots, and must have personal info redacted.

  • Tumblr and other blogging sites may be linked to directly unless personal information is apparent on the page.

  • Do not ask for or dig up personal information from a subject's profiles. If another user has posted a screenshot, do not link to or copy redacted information over in a comment.

For more information see the wiki-article on personal information.

RULE 3: DON'T BE AN ASSHAT

A) Don't make fun of real problems someone may have.

Some people have genuine medical and psychological issues, like cancer, eating disorders, autism, depression, dysphoria, etc. This isn't okay to make fun of. However, if someone is pretty clearly bullshitting about it, or has self-diagnosed themselves with thirty-seven different mental illnesses, that becomes fair game. We just don't want to trivialize the real issues people are dealing with.

B) Treat your fellow shitlords excellently.

Have discussions with respect to the person behind the username. It's okay to disagree, but don't get hostile or start brazenly insulting others. Attack arguments, not people.

C) Don't use TiA for your crusade.

We're here to have fun, crack jokes, and mock the stupidity of people, not to be active hate mongers. You can express unpopular opinions in a civil manner, but don't use TiA purely as a soapbox for pushing your ideologies. If you're here to spread hate, you've come to the wrong place.

RULE 4: THINGS THAT DO NOT BELONG ON THIS SUB [Submissions only]

  • Saidit content — Don't bring any SJW bullshit or anything else you found on any other part of Saidit over here. No linking, no screenshots, no "discussing" the character of other subs, no complaining about how you were banned by the mods of other subs, none of it. We've never wanted to be like SubredditDrama or SubredditCancer, and we plan on keeping it like that.

  • Overly political content — A political post is considered to be anything made by or explicitly referring to a political candidate. TiA is not a political campaigning tool, content should stand on it's own without the need for partisanship.

  • Rage bait — TiA is not a place for raising everyone's collective blood pressure, sending people into a blood-soaked rage, or going full Tumblr on a tragedy; super-serious material does not belong here (e.g. terrorist attacks, rape accusations, doxxing). These go to s/SocJus.

  • Satire posts, troll blogs, joke posts, and memesHere are some tips on identifying satire and trolls.

  • Sanity — A sanity post primarily highlights someone reacting reasonably to and/or calling out bullshit. We do have "Sanity Sundays" (10 p.m. EST Saturday nights - 3 a.m. PST Monday Mornings [0200hrs UTC Sunday to 1000hrs UTC Monday]), where these types of posts are allowed. In order for this to work properly, start the title of your submission with [Sanity Sunday].

  • Discussion and Meta — This includes AMAs, talks about personal experiences, complaints about the main sub, etc.

  • Videos and Podcasts — These are far too difficult and time-consuming to moderate, sorry.

FURTHER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Do not editorialize post titles. Misleading or sensationalized posts will be removed. Editorializing based on things not present or distorting the subject, even unintentionally, is not allowed. This includes using your title to hurl abuse at the subject. Don't cherry-pick parts of posts out of context.

  • Don't link to clickbait! This is a list of sites that must be submitted as a screenshot or web archive.

  • Mark NSFW posts as NSFW. Self-explanatory. There's a button below your submission labelled "NSFW", hit that and there shouldn't be any issues.

  • Don't shitpost. Posts need to be of reasonable quality. One-line edgy comments like "white people suck" are boring, repetitive and don't make the cut. Try to find unusual and interesting antics, rather than posting low-hanging fruit.

REMEMBER: IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THESE RULES, ASK THE MODS. WE'RE HERE TO HELP.
