I've gotten heat for my past takes:

So I'd like to revisit.
Anyways
Here's some lessons as I see them:
1:
A "revolution" will never be led by Bourgeoisie Bolsheviks. These "revolutionary" ideologues had almost no real world skills or preparation:
While I'm critical of many lefty projects (as a right winger), I actually had some hopes that an old-left styled "commune" project could start taking place. Such projects are at least productive. I don't like limiting my perspective to "right-wing" ideas, and try to hear other perspectives.
I've participated in some outdoors and survivalist groups and always noticed the lack of any left-wingers at all, something apparently a common problem in such groups. When I say "left-wingers" to be clear I mean calm, reasonable people with different views than myself, not the chapo-type idiots. Some people like Fthumb or Sandernista would come to mind as reasonable people with different views than myself... but AFAIK they don't participate in such groups either (or do they?)
Anyways I was closely watching the "commune" aspects, and was disappointed as the "commune" aspects failed spectacularly. I can't even mock it as funny, because it made me feel more disappointing than anything else.

It was as pathetic as the "self-immolation", an incredible practice once used by well disciplined Buddhist monks, turned into trash by a CNN-indoctrinated extremist:
https://nypost.com/2019/05/29/man-sets-himself-on-fire-near-white-house/
When witnessing such things there's no laughing at the guy under you that you're better than, it's just a sad and fucked up situation. It's like seeing someone's dog get ran over by a car, even if you don't like the pets owner there's really nothing positive about a fucked up thing like that.
2:
Disparities between enablers of (violence within) protests, participants within protests, and community outcomes after protests:
Protests needs to adhere to general standards to stay productive, focused on goals like raising awareness for an issue, and to prevent devolution to unproductive riots and anarchy, otherwise the communities will suffer.
Enabler Politicians DGAF when anarchy and chaos affects civilians, or even industries/businesses (large ones can relocate, small ones can't), but they do an about-face when mobs show up at their own doorstep. I wouldn't be surprised if some groups take notes about this and use it to their advantage to undermine future protests.
Enabler MSM also DGAF as long as the other "commoners" are the ones bearing the brunt of riots:

Michael Tracey was perhaps the only journalist to do hands-on investigations of the area, trying to analyze the riots as they turned violent, and the effects on local civilians

3:
The rhetoric surrounding police abuses vs gang violence/criminals closely resembles that of the Arab Spring:
Over the past week alone, way more unarmed (Black) civilians have been killed in cities than have died by the hands of police. It creates a really deja-vu cognitive dissonance for me, coming back to an Arab Spring comparison.
I was once arguing with a militant neoliberal SJW who downplayed the rates of homicides in cities, and he responded to my critique by noting the vast majority of violence and homicides are localized, predictable, and even within the same ethnic group, largely due to gang violence. The context we argued about was gang violence vs assassinations and "hate crime" murders.
Anyways his logic struck me as earily similar to that used regarding ISIS, "Sunni Muslim on Sunni Muslim" killings (I used to see this line used a lot), and MSM narratives blaming everything on Arab Nationalists like Assad.
Should a horrific killing done by a less political/intelligent group like ISIS really be "less important" than something done by an Arab state government? It's true that ISIS attacks for the most part are localized to ISIS territory (with a few occasional exceptions for terror abroad), but I strongly disagree with this notion.
So I've now seen a really interesting dynamics where now a lot of conservative media are "picking up" where the liberal media neglects, specifically gang violence in cities, and how such violence affects minority communities:

So this comes full circle as neocon info-warriors like Emma Best and Bellingcat come back on the militantly "anti-police" side:

And at least some of the viral rumors like "Jacob Pederson, undercover cop" were elaborate forgeries
The writer Max Perry had an excellent critique of CHOP here:
