  1. How does Iran have jurisdiction to do this in Iraq? Iraq is mostly US-owned and run at this point.

  2. If Israel gets seriously hit by missiles or a nuke that is blamed on Iran, they will respond in a way that will crush Iran. Iran knows this so it seems surprising they would choose to make this move. Which makes me question if they're the ones actually doing this.

It's a manuver to retaliate if the US/ Israel attack Iran.
Also, Iran lent crucial military support to Iraq against ISIS, while the US say on their hands.
Last, the majority of Iraqis are Shia Muslims~2/3 majority, who identify more with Iran's 90%.
The US actually did Iran a favor when they invaded and deposed Saddam.
