Fuck NATO. NATO is proof that the bad guys won WW2.

Was this before or after he molested children?

Y'all should keep your passports in handy and be ready to move to some neutral country in the southern hemisphere on short notice. Just in case.

Fuck that, we will fight for ours. 1776 part 2, electric boogaloo

I admire your bravery, but an extra body on the line isn't going to stop any ICBMs. All countries involved will be destroyed either way, there is no point.

ICBMs aren't an issue. Anti-missile systems will take care of them. They're old tech. No, today's tech are unlimited range, smart, self-steering, hypersonic missiles capable of > mach 5 speeds. No anti-missile tech exists for those. Equipped with MIRV nukes, how many would they need to lay waste to the West? 10?

We are just going to intercept the 2000 warheads launched simultaneously from 300 ICBMs reentrying the atmosphere at relativistic speeds, and shoot down all of the strategic nuclear bombers, and depth charge all of the nuclear submarines before they can launch tactical nuclear strikes... Everything is going to be fine.

Literally the kind of stupidity that Dr. Strangelove was mocking. Actual Pentagon estimates for deaths resulting from a full nuclear war are 600 millions before accounting for secondary effects. If the US thought it could win a nuclear war with Russia it would have delivered a first strike a long time ago.

Yes, but Russia won't launch an all-out nuclear war. Just a few non-counterable strikes from hypersonics on designated Western cities (say, London and LA) with a message: "We can continue, or you stop your nonsense." It will be up to the West to be reasonable... Or kill the world.

That's like firing a warning shot at an armed man's leg and expecting him not to fire back to kill.

Your information is outdated. The West CANNOT stop most Russian nukes, but Russia CAN stop most western nukes. Putin doesn't bluff. He warns.

How many of those Russian made and maintained ICBMs from the 60s are still going to actually work. How many of the warheads will?

I'm probably fucked being in the Energy Corridor. Nothing shuts down the country quite like nuking Houston so I'm sure a redundant amount of nukes will target my area. Remember me fondly.

They've been warning that for the last few months.

[–]Alphix 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

... and nobody listens.

Nah we all know the danger, only the NPCs of Twitter and Reddit don't. Normal people don't care about Ukraine it just appears as if they do because the megaphone is controlled by the liberals.

[–]Alphix 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

As much as I want to respect individual humans, it's becoming harder and harder to justify seeing them are more than actual NPCs.

[–]WhenImBanned 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I don't respect them at all nor feel like I'm rude for not respecting them. They don't use their brain so their brain is used for them. They want to fit in so bad they even deny what their eyes can clearly see about gender. Such people deserve ridicule and pity.

[–]Alphix 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Pity, yes. Ridicule, no. Never.

Look at me: I am morbidly obese. Most people want to ridicule and are disgusted by my physical appearance. What they don't know and don't understand is that I have always been a health freak, and a high level athlete until I got poisoned by mercury. Now I'm fat because my body is using it to store away this horrible poison. It's a survial mechanism of a poisoned body, not a testament of laziness and stupidity. But most people choose to believe the latter. Be careful you don't fall in the same trap, it would be disadvantageous to do so.

A zombie revolution is technically possible too, but

[–]Alphix 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The paranoid part of me thinks that Putin is part of the same plan as the West and is just playing "bad guy" to the West's "good (lol) guy" and that nuking a few cities is the perfect plan to usher in absolute totalitarian control with war measures laws etc.

NATO members, and Ukraine leaders, have been openly stating that they've been preparing to do so since 2014. I remember when Angela Merkel was saying that they wouldn't arm Ukraine, for fear of instigating a greater situation, while the US was just openly contemplating arming and training Ukraine. They all boasted as the trained and armed Ukraine's military, while Ukraine boasted of building a domestic arms development, while becoming developers of ballistic missile innovations, planning an offensive just before the media started reporting a "Russian invasion"... although that had been going on since even before 2014. With the amount of civilian casualties over the last 10 years in Eastern Ukraine, there's probably nothing left but NATO versus Russia's meat for the grinder fighting in Ukraine's Donbas region. Both sides have ignored international worries, repeatedly broke cease fire treaty and openly planned preparing for an offensive...right about now.
